Rainbow Six Siege hacked as attackers give players billions of in-game currency - briefly
(hx) 08:12 AM CET - Dec,28 2025
Servers for Ubisoft’s popular first-person shooter game are currently offline on consoles and PC. A suspected hack granted some Rainbow Six Siege players huge bundles of in-game currency. Other players have witnessed mass bans, prompting Ubisoft to take action while investigating.

On December 27, attackers breached Ubisoft's backend systems, granting millions of Siege players around 2 billion R6 Credits each—worth about $13 million at full price—plus unlimited Renown, Alpha Packs, and all cosmetics, including developer exclusives. They hijacked the ban feed with hilarious taunts like song lyrics and jabs at CEO Yves Guillemot, while randomly banning and un-banning accounts. Ubisoft took servers offline across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, rolled back transactions since 11:00 UTC, and promised no bans for spending the gifted credits, but downtime continues with no return timeline as they fix the issues.
