Who remembers modems, BBSs, Fidonet? That is, the time before the internet? - briefly|
| (hx) 12:29 AM CEST - Jul,10 2025 | My dear readers, do you remember that amazing time without cell phones and the internet? Did you know that I ran the Heretic Slaughter PCBoard BBS until 1997? At first, I had cheap 2400 modems, but later I spent most of the money I earned from programming on computers, CD burners, and, of course, US Robotics modems :-) I also had a FIDONET address 2:423/84 :-)

I got them to agree to sell me an affordable 9.6k link *that was up 24/7". I was a God. ? No more "x bucks a minute" telephone time for this guy. |
