Microsoft Drops Support for Intel 8th, 9th, and 10th Gen CPUs for Windows 11 24H2 - briefly
(hx) 08:07 PM CET - Feb,18 2025
Microsoft has finally published the official support list for Windows 11 24H2 and it has, at long last, added many pending AMD chips. Over on the blue side though, the tech giant has surprisingly removed several Intel SKUs from this new list even though they should technically be supported on 24H2 as they fulfill the official system requirements criteria. So as of now, Microsoft no longer supports these parts on new machines, at least on paper. For starters, Ice Lake U and Y (Intel 10th Gen mobile) and Comet Lake (Intel 10th Gen desktop and mobile) SKUs have been dumped. Support for 8th and 9th Gen parts (Cofee Lake) have been dropped too.

I think Intel made a deal with Microsoft because people were not buying their new CPUs -> illegal.
