AMD Ryzen 5 3600 vs. Intel Core i5-9600K, 2023 Revisit - tech|
| (hx) 11:20 PM CET - Nov,19 2023 | so this is a very interesting video, I have in my PC Intel Core i5-9600K, 32GB RAM, 1TB Samsung SSD 980 NVMe and NVIDIA Geforce RTX 3070 and so far I really don't plan to change it at all! The PC runs beautifully, doesn't consume much power, doesn't heat up...that's exactly what I need in my office.
Although it's true that I've been building a PC with AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D for a client and I was very pleasantly surprised. Meanwhile the new Intel processors are unsaleable for me. So if my own PC would go away now, I would definitely choose AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D.

last 10 comments: | Sabot | (12:22 PM CET - Nov,20 2023 ) | I’ve just now shopped for my new PC parts and I can honestly say the market is a pile of utter bull…
I tried to get an RTX 3080. With prices at £800 - 1200 is an utter friggin joke!
So on a Black Friday deal -again, a RTX 4060 TI was purchased for £375. Bearing in mind everything is so utterly ridiculously overinflated!!
One thing that drew me to the 4060 over say a 3070 was the RTX 4060 drew about 48% less power than the RTX 3070 at 1440p.
That’s a biggie with electricity prices for me!
I got my CPU an I5- 13400f again over £200.
Viewsonic monitor 27” 165Hz 1ms 1440 in a black friday deal for £165
My mobo is an MAG B660M MORTAR WIFI DDR5 £222 Could NOT get a DDR4 quality board without weeks of waiting and just not-on prices…
PSU MSI MAG 850 https://www.msi.com/Power-Supply/MAG-A850GL-PCIE5
For Black Friday, again, £85
Corsair vengeance DDR5 5600MHz £109
MSI MIDI Tower case, supports the MAG, Black Friday for £50
Leaves me just needing storage. But that lot was, inc bits pieces, over £1200…
My first PC 33 years ago was over £1200 486DX. A bit uncanny.
This, remember, is the U.K. It’s honestly a joke buying anything.
I’m just glad that I love games and I’ve played 1080p for over a decade. So going to 1440 will be heaven. And I’m not into cyberpunk or tech demo games. I’ve compared my Gigabyte RTX 4060 TI with gaming in 1440 and it’s well into near 100 fps for me.
Btw, that AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D is cloud cuckoo land money!
£578 or $588. That’s farcical money in anyone’s books

And it’s only greatly faster in OC 64-core speed than my i5-13400f, but my CPU is 72% cheaper!

I definitely agree that the Intel Core i5-13400F is fucking cheap :-)
Which can't be said about AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D at all, the motherboard will be expensive too.
It's a fact that I'm not a typical person who plays only games on PC, but I use it for various virtualization, testing, etc. I need a lot of memory, a lot of CPU cores. I mean, I need something between a gaming PC and a server LOL. That's why I'd rather upgrade to the Ryzen, before that happens they'll surely discount it to half the price (I hope).

What did you do with your "wishlist" some 10+ years ago? You were fine with 4 core and 16GB, maybe 32GB, right? ;)
Everyone needs everything, but , not really.
