i3 12100F Vs i7 2600 - Budget 12th Gen Vs High-End 2nd Gen - tech|
| (hx) 01:04 PM CEST - Apr,05 2022 | How does a decade old high-end quad core processor compare to a modern budget CPU with the same core count? Today we're going to find out. The I7 2600 was one of the best Intel chips money could buy over a decade ago, so how does it hold up to Intel's latest budget king?

It is however, like everything PCs, subjective. I’ve bought games that my CPU was not supported. Well how come it does and plays perfectly fine and better in a lot of cases The simple answer is hardware configs and the fact that no one can bench test every CPU or GPU released against newer silicon, nor can they put in the same RAM, motherboard, sound card, SSD or even features that motherboards have.
not to mention resolution, drivers and bloat that they use or runs in the background.

I have an unused 2600k-based PC sitting next to me.
Only PSU is required...
