Square Enix announces action RPG Valkyrie Elysium for PS5, PS4, and PC - briefly|
| (hx) 07:04 PM CET - Mar,10 2022 | Publisher Square Enix and developer Soleil have announced Valkyrie Elysium, a new action RPG in the Valkyrie series, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC (Steam). It will launch in 2022. Valkyrie Elysium also incorporates elements of the Valkyrie series’ classic gameplay, such as the Einherjar—recruitable warriors who will join the hero and fight at her side when summoned. It’s a beautiful game, too, with incredible art design that captures the spirit of the series in an exciting, modern way. On PlayStation 5, it;s also running in 4K and 60 frames per second, making for an adventure that looks and feels beautifully crisp.
And, of course, we must mention the music. Series composer Motoi Sakuraba returns and contributes to the game’s stunning score. RPGs are always better when they have a strong soundtrack, and this one is going to be… well, literally music to your ears.
The trailer provides a first glimpse of the game’s protagonist, a young Valkyrie who is entrusted with the fate of the world by the All-Father, the highest of gods and ruler of all creation. She will face various enemies on her quest and must utilize a variety of weapons, magic and the power of her allies to prevent Ragnarok—the destruction of the world.
