Cyberpunk 2077 Update 1.5 is 50GB - patch|
| (hx) 12:29 AM CET - Feb,16 2022 | CD Projekt RED has released the highly anticipated Patch 1.5 for Cyberpunk 2077. This update is 50GB in size, and you can find below its full patch notes.
Now what’s also cool here is that CD Projekt RED has added a built-in benchmark tool on PC. As such, PC gamers can adjust their settings and run the benchmark in order to test their PC systems. Now we don’t know whether this is a stress test or not. Still, it’s a great way to measure your performance. Additionally, the game now supports AMD’s SuperResolution FX.
According to CD Projekt RED, Update 1.5 brings some new weapons and additional apartments to the game. Moreover, it packs a number of balance tweaks and improvements. Furthermore, players can expect better crowd reactions.
Patch 1.5 is live on all digital stores. As always, Steam, GOG and any other client will download this update the next time you launch it.
In related news, Cyberpunk 2077 is now available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series alongside a free trial, developer CD Projekt RED announced. Users who own the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One versions can upgrade to the new versions free of charge.

It’s totally unacceptable. I’m of the age when in the 90s Activision sent everyone a CD-ROM with patches for its games at the time. Yeah people registered. So what if the patches were smaller, they still ate into dialup and it was a hassle finding then - other than PCZone/games mags. But this…this is having a pissing laugh. 50GB *just* for a patch.
Again, free Blu-ray with this garbage on sent out to all Cyberjunk owners. Generation saps
50GB = is the size of a FULL game. How much in total in the patches they’ve dropped is it equal to now in GB, I wonder that those that stuck with this have downloaded inc the game!?
How is that going to equate to space on a puny console HD?
| Csimbi | (04:40 PM CET - Feb,16 2022 ) | The full 1.5 CODEX release is 60Gs or so, the language addon is another 40G or so.
I am not sure why though, it does not look or sound that good (just think of the big, clunky minecraft-like buildings).
For reference, the full Witcher 3 is 52Gs or so (this includes the two large DLCs).
The HD Reworked project adds another 10Gs for great visuals.
A current game, Days Gone - which does not look too bad - is 61Gs (the Razor release).
Spellforce 3 Reforced is 50Gs (CODEX).
What was that game a few years back? Quantum Break or something?
That was 100Gs or so due to all the video content.
That said, Cyberpunk does not seem that big. But yeah, I wonder what in there takes all that size, considering everything looks alike and sounds alike.
| Sabot | (09:05 PM CET - Feb,16 2022 ) | Cyberpunk has had 10 patches so far. This being 60-50gb and one other I seen was over 33gb. So just two patches is over the install size of the full game of 70gb. So what size where the other 8 patches -on top of the 93gb patches above. It’s like a rip-off version of ‘Early Access’. “We’ll Chuck out a half finished unplayable pile of crap, then they can pay to download the rest of the game that should have been in it”. Saves them repressi…… sorry, can’t be arsed loading a full game on the server - I meant.
Let’s face it, it would have been quicker and cheaper for the user to wait for the *complete* fixed game on a server and download it in one go.
It’s a sad state of affairs that joe-public today accepts patches of that magnitude for a AAA game.
In EA, it’s acceptable and expected as the game is just bare bones and will or won’t grow. I’ve got half a dozen. But I’m talking 1 to 1.2gb downloads - even 10 patches is like 1/10th the patch 1.33 of cyberpunk.
| lorcro2000 | (09:54 AM CET - Feb,17 2022 ) | Yeah, it's bullshit that it took them this long to create what is realistically a version 1.0 - even though they call it 1.5. This is the minimum it should have been on launch.
But that's also why this was a scandal that literally affected CDPR's stock values, and for the first time had a game suspended on Sonys playstation store, this was an epic fuck-up.
Still - it's nice that they've picked things up and improved them. And gamers on old cards, be it AMD or Nvidia, can use AMD's FSR to get more frames for free. I'll probably do a fresh playthrough and spend some time with the game now.
As for the patch sizes - they don't actually stack on top of each other, space wise. I got the GOG version without DRM and the patches have obviously replaced old data. They are indeed weirdly huge, though, seems like there should have been a way to do deltas of the changes rather than multiple 50 gig downloads but oh well, doesn't bother me any ,I have fiber...

I know about the patches not stacking, I’m just referring to the total amount of downloading that has to be done just for an ‘average’ 67-70GB game install. Some folks don’t have very good broadband or even limits - because of the size it was corrupting downloads.
The Witcher 3 literally went to their heads. Biggest monumental feck up by a games company in a long time that I can even remember. The only stuff I remember is hype and bad sales days. Daikantana for eg.
Re- cyberpunk; I read on the forums it reset your players points and left them without clothes!

If you think it looks like Minecraft, you either haven't played the game, or you're using a CRT monitor at 640x480 resolution.
Personally, I'd recommend playing it instead of thinking about epeen sizes. The game is easily up there as one of the best singleplayer shooters. Is it perfect? No.

I am not playing it, I am observing what I see in youtube videos and there, the buildings look like clunkly Minecraft blocks.
Here is a fresh video, go to 4:03, pause and look in the distance.
What the fuck are those?

Then, take a Witcher 3 video like this and pause at 1:03 and look in the distance again.

Those are buildings.
I am not paying more than 10 euros for this shit - that's what a stupid shooter is worth.

You're comparing two completely different architectural styles, with both games having a completely different scope in-terms of what is explorable and what isn't.
To even entertain that video comparison would be pointless, but to use that as the superficial basis for whether or not you would play Cyberpunk? Not sure if that's a great deciding factor :D You'd miss out on a lot of great games doing that.
I avoided the hype back when Cyberpunk first came out, and just played it, absorbed it and enjoyed it. Like I said before, it's not perfect, but I didn't waste time eyeballing videos and graphics to nitpick. Keanu is awesome in it.
