TechNews - Windows 10 slated for mid July 2015 - tech|
| (hx) 10:28 PM CEST - May,30 2015 | How much RAM is in your computer? I made the jump to16GB a year or
two ago....
- Windows 10 signoff is slated for mid July 2015 - Microsoft
has said that Windows 10 will be released this Summer and
according to the current roadmap, the middle of July is targeted for
signoff of the new OS, according to two insiders familiar with the
company's plans. Of course, plans can still change but this timeline
has been on the books for several weeks with no current sign of
slippage. Microsoft is moving aggressively with Windows 10 by offering
it for free as an upgrade for the first year and they have already said
that additional updates will be free as well. Currently, Microsoft is
publicly testing out build 10122 with Insiders, while build 10130 is
being used internally by around 1,500 staff, and the company is adding
the final few tweaks to the UI while squashing bugs as well.
- MS will not charge for feature / functionality updates for
Windows - One of the most common questions we receive is if
Microsoft is going to charge for updates to Windows 10. With Office 365
and many other software products from the company requiring on-going
payments, the question has merit, especially since the OS will be a
free upgrade for the first year. On
a staging site for Windows 10, Microsoft makes it clear that
updates that bring features and functionality to the OS, the company
will not be charging the consumer. Microsoft says the following on this
Windows 10 site: "And
even better: once a qualified Windows device is upgraded to Windows 10,
we will continue to keep it up to date for the supported lifetime of
the device, keeping it more secure, and introducing new features and
functionality over time - for no additional charge."

- New iOS Bug Crashing iPhones Simply by Receiving a Text

new bug has been discovered in the Messages app, allowing a string

cause the Messages app to crash after being opened. The bug, which
requires a specific string of symbols and Arabic characters to be sent,
was first noticed on reddit earlier this afternoon and has been
spreading around the Internet since then.
- Cortana is coming to Android and iOS - Microsoft today
said Android
and iOS users will soon be able to use Cortana, its virtual
assistant, on their smartphones. The Android and iOS Cortana app will
work in coordination with Cortana on Windows 10 PCs, according to
Microsoft. A Phone Companion app for Windows 10 PCs will help Android
and iOS device owners install Cortana on their handset so they can
access Microsoft's virtual assistant wherever they go. The Android and
iOS version of Cortana will include most features available to the
Windows 10 and Windows Phone versions, such as setting reminders,
alerts, and alarms; tracking flights and managing travel details; and
accessing Cortana's Notebook function for search preferences

You are right. Anything >8GB don't make much difference on regular desktop (at least under Windows 7 Pro 64-bit).

Nuclear radiation = cancer ... kills millions every year... someday people will wake up to that simple fking fact.. nuclear industry is death (years later even on the other side of world) + easy fking money to industry built around it.
BillG nuclear investor so go figure. Such a fucking criminal eugenicist creep, so concerned about people dying from viruses lets give them drugs and research instead of helping to make better living conditions.
