  • Microsoft Will Give You $650 Store Credit For A MacBook Air - Microsoft is running a promotion that gives you up to $650 in store credit when you trade in select MacBook Air models and buy a Surface Pro 3. In related news, the chaps at iFixit have posted a teardown of the Microsoft Surface Pro.
  • Are you having any issues with the Wi-Fi on your Surface Pro 3? - Microsoft released its Surface Pro 3 last week and so far, there do not appear to be any major hiccups with the launch. And while most users appear to be having no issues with their devices, a thread on Microsoft's support forums states that some are having issues connecting to Wi-Fi after waking up the device from sleep
  • Netflix First Original Anime Series Looks Awesome - Plenty of fireworks in the US on July 4th and Netflix will be adding a little extra flash-bang of its own with the introduction of its first original anime series entitled Knights of Sidonia.
  • Windows 8.1 Update 2 Could Debut in July - The Russian super-leaker Wzor, who by the way is uncannily correct in his predictions, has pegged announcements on both operating systems coming on July 13-17 at the Worldwide Partner Conference. The first tweet goes like this: "Windows 8.1 Update 2 will be announced during Microsoft WPC 2014 July 13-17 Win 9 beta will be probably presented same time. by WZT" And the second: "JUNE 06/26/14, WINDOWS 8.1 UPDATE 2 RTM Build sign-OFF is more likely occurring now! by WZT"  Update 2 probably won't have a desktop Start menu or a Modern-Mix style capability for running Metro apps inside resizable windows on the desktop. Instead, most bets emphasize plumbing changes in Update 2 and very little if anything on the UI side.
  • YouTube to Get 60 FPS Option - YouTube will soon have the ability to display a higher framerate than most Xbox One games. They revealed earlier this evening that they will "soon" have 48 FPS and 60 FPS options for uploaders. They even went so far as to include a few sample videos that are apparently already running at 60 FPS. Unfortunately for everyone, it seems as though YouTube still insists at compressing the visual quality down just as much as before. So while the jump in framerate is certainly welcome, it doesn't really help when the overall quality still suffers greatly because of their re-encoding process. You can see the sample video here!
