Start menu to return in Windows 8.2 - tech|
| (hx) 08:41 PM CET - Dec,11 2013 | According to reports, the next major update to Windows 8 will bring back the Start menu. Microsoft expert, Paul Thurrott of Supersite for Windows has said that company is planning to bring back the much asked for menu. The first major update to Windows 8, Windows 8.1 brought back the Start button after many complaints. However, its reintroduction failed to quell many of the complaints. Unlike in previous versions of Windows, pressing the button takes users back to the Windows Metro interface. Another feature that is much requested by users and may be making its way to Windows 8.2 – codenamed Threshold – is the ability to run Metro apps in Windows mode. That would mean users would be able to run apps such as Skype and SkyDrive in a more traditional way without needing to use a third party application.
I've not heard anything independently about the product versions in Threshold. But I do know about a few changes that Microsoft is planning for what my sources have described as "the next version of Windows," which I assume is Threshold. (Though to be clear, they never used this name.) And they're big news.
They are...
Metro apps running in windows on the desktop. As you can today with third-party utilities such as ModernMix, the next version of Windows will let users optionally run Metro apps in floating windows on the desktop.
Start menu. After bringing back the Start button in Windows 8.1, Microsoft will take the next logical step in the next Windows version and make the Start menu available as an option. It's possible this will appear only on those product versions that support the desktop.

If I were the CEO, I would have laid off the whole management responsible this piece of junk.
I don't think stopping Windows 7 sales is going to do any good - this ship has already sunk. Next Windows, please and better luck next time! | |

| Kompressor | (05:42 PM CET - Dec,13 2013 ) | | It's just a matter of time before the start menu comes back. Most of Microsoft's revenue is from businesses. and no business will migrate to Windows 8 in its present form. | |
