Destiny beta confirmed for 'early 2014' - movie|
| (hx) 01:30 AM CEST - Oct,02 2013 | As previously tipped, Bungie will host a Destiny beta in 'early 2014', the developer has confirmed. Access codes will be sent to customers who pre-order the game at "participating retailers worldwide" for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Participating retailers in the US include Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop and Walmart. In UK, that list is comprised of Amazon, Smyths, Tesco and Blockbuster. "The required 9-digit entry code will be printed on their receipt, on a flyer distributed at time of purchase or sent via email through their respective retail rewards program," explains the PR. Upon receiving your entry code you can register for the beta on the official site here.
Those of you that have pre-ordered the game at a participating retailer before today's announcement will automatically entered into the beta. "Destiny Beta Redemption Codes are only available while supplies last," warns Bungie. Little is said of the contents of the beta itself, other than it will "include a diverse sampling of major activities featured in the full game". Coinciding with today's announcement, Bungie has released a new trailer (below) focusing on the Moon and featuring the Hive, one of the four enemy races featured in the game.
