Monster Hunter Online has been announced as a joint effort between Capcom and Chinese online specialists Tencent. The game, which is powered by the CryEngine 3, will begin a six-month testing period in June throughout China. Global launch plans are still to be confirmed. Monster Hunter Online will feature new skills, weapons, moves and maps, as dragons and humans struggle to co-exist. Using the CryEngine 3, the developers are better able to simulate realistic environments, and will introduce dynamic light and shadow effects and weather systems. Gameplay will remain similar to previous Monster Hunter games, although as a PC title, it will also feature mouse and keyboard support.
The bad news is that it targets the Chinese market. The game will be published by Tencent. Let's hope that Capcom will release Monster Hunter Online and in other regions.
