XBox Next-gen games in development?? - briefly|
| (hx) 02:19 AM CEST - Oct,06 2011 | CVG is spreading the rumor that some developers have Xbox Next titles in development. That's according to the 'Insider' section of the latest issue of Xbox World, which writes: "We hear a number of Microsoft-friendly developers are hard at work on prepping next gen games as we speak. Could this be the reason why Remedy are so quiet about Alan Wake 2? (Yes)" It adds: "Rare, Lionhead and Turn 10 all have teams in place too. Rare, we hear, are even prototyping ideas for a new 'mature title'.
Lionhead is busy working on Fable 4 for release in 2013, according to the rumour section in the October 2011 issue of the US Official Xbox Magazine.
I still think it's going to be 2014 before we see anything new beyond Nintendo's new rig....what you think? |

| Tom | (03:41 AM CEST - Oct,06 2011 ) | That's cool but I'd rather know more in terms of features of the new consoles. Most especially the inclusion of a keyboard + mouse combo. I doubt they will add that though because it would definitely be the last nail in the coffin for PC gaming.
Great to hear that the OS core is getting complete because game developers wouldn't be wasting cycles on that if it wasn't. Be nice to know what the gpu will put out too. I think HX is probably right though but I think a possible Xmas 2013 for next gens to hitting the shelves. Other features I can hope for in next gen
HD cam support
Alternative OS support, (i.e linux or windows)
More office integration with better email and IM support
Keyboard and mouse support (not mandatory though for all games)
Bluray support and better Media Server client interfaces
Better support, addons for HD (i.e upgrade hd in 2 steps, expanding with 3rd party hard drives)
Better internet browser with better compatibility of flash and java |

BTW, consoles with never be better than PC. The day a new console comes out (e.g. next gen Xbox), the PC will still have better graphics. Also, PC hardware gets better all the time where a console is stuck with outdated hardware until the next console is released which takes an eternity in the computer world. Not to mention that you can do a hell of allot more on a PC. |

Cause you don't have to upgrade it every 5mins cause a dev has thrown in 3 more light bursts and a metallic, glinty sword. Or the fake need for a useless 300 buck bloated OS JUST to play games, right......... Give me a pc that plays GAMES without a stupid, expensive patched resource hogging OS that JUST has firmware updates and has a graphics card that lasts longer than 6months AND utilises ALL of it's quoted features!!!
Same old $hit that happened 20+ years ago, nothing changes except fresh pc mugs join up thinking 'they know it all FIRST' Sorry, the pc is a DINOSAUR! Bolting new bits onto old bits...... like a hip replacement on a 65 year old, It keeps you amused for a few months before something else - ultimately- slows the rest of you/ it down. And so it repeats, on and on.............................. You NEVER,EVER win of course, just make HW manufacturer's rich. But hey, i should know, i used to be one of you gullible fools. |

Yes, lets just have a locked down, foolproof OS like consoles, like a spiked wire fence around a kindergarten full of Down's Syndrome kids.
Who needs creativity and the ability to do anything else but consume whatever readymade entertainment is being channeled through their simple and fun to browse content delivery platforms?
Break down the wild constructs of free developement, the untamed fields and graslands of freedom and the wild bug beasts that sometimes try to eat you and replace it with family friendly, soft and cushy entertainment, devoid of anything requiring attention span or perception beyond simple absorption.
Give the generation of twitching, shallow and ADD consumers what they REALLY want.
I don't like sounding like, you know, Koogle, but sometimes you really gotta wonder if there is actually brains at work here.
You have your consoles, be happy with it. Hey, even I play my 360 and PS3, well, sometimes. It would just be good to remember that the PC's platform intention isn't only to serve you specifically with fun. |

And one more thing! Before i got my new PC, just month ago, i had a PC that was like 3 and a half years old!
Today you can run all the games on a WinXP, with the hardware that i had - and THEY WILL SILL look better than a console!
You as a console user must not care how a game looks, with the latest effects it detail and stuff - you have no requirements in that department. So all that Bullshit that you wrote is pointless, and makes you like a hater that hates for the sakes of hating :shock:
And just to agree with kittomer, i want to say that the PC is something more than a gaming platform :shock: I am surprised that you didnt know that! :shock:
All the new hardware that comes out every year or two, has its price and people like me or my employer (to be correct), are getting advantage of it!
