Yeah, this looks amazing, especially considering it's running in software mode with 20fps... It's been too long since the last (real) advancement in computer graphics.

Does look good, glad to know they're still around and progressing, but I wonder how long it will be before they start to sell their tech? Another year?
And okay, they said they weren't artists, but their island was very square and blocky, like it was built in chunks..
Plus did anyone else think "WUAHAHHRRRR, GET TO DA CHOPPER" when he was speaking? :)

Its just a tech demo, not some beauty tech demo like the 3dmark ones... that show nothing actually...
The point is the amazing detail you got here. Im totally shocked to see this in a real time enviroment. Considering what you get from Arnold renderer nowadays (for example), this is really impressive to have that amount of detail interactive!@

Not that old thing again....
It was announced last year, again they had some videos out, and after 1 year they come back with zero progress. Oh, they got a new island this time. "Wow".
They still have made 0 progress to offload this to the GPU, so the cpu will have to assume the role of the renderer, so the games are going to have it more difficult. No animation either, despite their claims. Oh, not even mentioning collision or real time deforming yet.
Yep, they really convinced me.
And if anyone cares to read a few thought provoking opinions on the subject (inbetween lots of troll posts!) from people that actually work in the industry, here's two pouet.net threads about the subject.
if you havent noticed there is no movement whatsoever because you right now cant animate point cloud gfx. the technologie they use is actually quite old, for computer gfx anyway.
it produces nice easy rendered solid objects but dynamic lights and animations are right now a no go wich is the whole reason no one uses the tech.
as far as i am concerned as long as they dont produce a animated dynamic objekt the company is nothing but a rip off trying to get inverstor money for not getting anything done.
id love to be proven wrong though of course but since there has been no progress since last time they showd the tech i doubt it.

this will never live because m$ will never allow it. Too much has been invested in directX to let it go just like that. Not to mention tons of dedicated GPUs that sell because of their dx version number and things like that.

i agree that dx is slowing down gfx quality on the pc, but it unifies the hardware somewhat, we could have much better gfx, if the game engine was coded per gpu but then you could only play it on that gpu or at least the gpu generation. there would be no compatibility.
this tech just dosent work with animation, imagine you have the a tree made of 100000 dots, wich is very little they use a lot more in the video, and you want to animate the tree moving in the wind so you have to move the coordinates of 100k dots every single one with a vector on the xyz axies it just kills processing power.
as long as they dont show the ability to animate this very well known tech in professional circles, the company is just a rip off for people who dont have insight in the tech.
