Call of Duty convention set for September - briefly|
| (hx) 08:26 PM CEST - Jun,30 2011 | Activision announced today that the first-ever fan festival for the franchise will be held this September 2 and 3 in Los Angeles. Call of Duty XP 2011. The gathering will feature Black Ops tournaments (with a million dollar prize!), hands-on time with Modern Warfare 3 and the full-featured version of Call of Duty Elite, live entertainment, and, most impressively, a paintball tournament in a life-sized version of the map 'The Pit' from Modern Warfare 2. Tickets for Call of Duty XP will be available soon for $150. Before you accuse Activision of flagrant greed, it should be noted that 100% of the proceeds go to the Call of Duty Endowment, the non-profit organization that that helps veterans adjust back into civilian life.
Other Call of Duty XP activities include:
• Tournaments and prizes for the hardcore and casual fan alike
• Discussion panels and Q&A with Call of Duty developers
• Onsite Call of Duty armory and museum
• AAA live entertainment
