Mortal Kombat may require 'online pass' to play - briefly|
| (hx) 06:44 PM CEST - Mar,30 2011 | Warner Bros. may be borrowing a page from EA and THQ's
moneymaking playbook by monetizing off the sale of used games by
requiring an 'online pass' for second hand owners of Mortal
Kombat to play online. The original owners of Mortal Kombat will
include an 'online pass' token that must be redeemed before playing
online. Warner Bros. will be providing retailers with details on the
pass and how to purchase a new one if you're buying a used copy of the
game. No reference of this pass has been mentioned in the game's
packaging. The pass will cost 800 Microsoft Points or $10.
Mortal Kombat, available on April 19 for the PlayStation 3 computer
entertainment system and the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment
system from Microsoft, includes a one-time-use registration code that
gives players access to all online modes in the game. Players who do
not have a code will get a free two-day trial of the online play and
then be able to purchase the online modes for 800 Microsoft Points on
Xbox LIVE Marketplace and $9.99 on the PlayStation Network.

A few months after launch, nobody is going to play it, so why pay for the pass? | |
| Kompressor | (08:05 AM CEST - Mar,31 2011 ) | I was on the fence buying this game, I did preorder it through amazon, but I canceled the preorder because of this BS.
