  • All Your iPhone Passwords Stolen in 6 Minutes - German researchers Fraunhofer SIT have demonstrated processes that enable a would-be attacker to compromise and reveal passwords stored in a locked iPhone in under six minutes, without having to crack the phone's passcode. The attack will be worrying to those who utilize a passcode lock to protect their iPhone devices, especially if a phone is stolen, as it can reveal passwords for corporate networks and other sensitive data. The attack requires possession of the iPhone and targets the handsets individual keychain, the iPhone's password storage platform. Researchers, utilising existing exploits, are simply able to jailbreak the device, install an SSH server on the device that allows them to run queries and execute third-party software on the phone.
  • Nokia and Microsoft Announce Smart-Phone Partnership - Nokia and Microsoft have announced that from now on, Windows Mobile 7 will be shipping with every one of their new smart-phones. This ends Nokia's relationship with the Symbian OS, but also puts the kibosh on any Android support. Windows Mobile 7 launched last year and features support for Xbox Live.
  • Hands-On with the Kyocera dual-screen smart phone - Made by Japanese electronics manufacturer Kyocera, the phone's dual 3.5-inch WVGA screens can be operated independent of one another or combine in 'tablet mode' to add up to a single 4.7-inch integrated display (albeit one with a hinge in the middle). The phone can be operated like most other touchscreen smartphones in its single-screen mode, but in 'Simul-task Mode' users can run separate apps on each screen - like, say, open a text on the upper screen while reading an email on the lower one. Tablet mode, says Sprint, works well for viewing videos and lists across a larger surface area.
