No Plans for Super Street Fighter IV PC - briefly
(hx) 11:15 PM CEST - Sep,22 2010
Producer Yoshinori Ono has revealed that there are currently no plans to bring Super Street Fighter IV to the PC due to piracy.
It doesn't look like this is going to be happening. In a 4gamer interview today, series producer Yoshinori Ono said that, due to high piracy with the PC version of the original Street Fighter IV, there are currently no plans for a PC version of Super.
The PC version of the original was actually a strong seller worldwide, said Ono. However, it was also "number one in piracy."

Ono actually managed to look on the bright side of the piracy issue, saying that at least the game saw wider spread because of it. However, for the sake of protecting the Street Fighter IV IP, they cannot make it so that Street Fighter is considered "free" in certain areas.
Ono didn't totally rule out a PC release. If they were to find some sort of powerful copy protection solution, the PC version's status could change, he said. He explained that the arcade version already runs on Taito's DirectX-based Type X2 arcade board, so a PC version is already 99% ready.

He did, however, rule out the possibility of a Steam-only release, saying that it would be unfair to those who are unable to buy via Steam.

Fight games sucks. Fight games on PC sucks even more. Fight games with GFWL system is the ultimate sucking bullshit.

However, is funny how they blame piracy. I think it's just a genre that isnt appealing for the PC. Even in past Steam offers at $4.99 the game wont sell. Only 4 of my Steam friends have it. To compare it with another GFWL title DiRT 2 is owned by 47 of my friends.

piracy on 360 is just as bad as pc

Ya.. I knew before I even looked in the comments what they would be here. They present the obvious about piracy and then it's, "Oh the fighting games suck anyhow". There are already a number of petitions online about it because there is community behind these games at the same time flames in their forums. So I guess they suck for you but not for a lot of other people. I like these games too on PC, mind you I have started buying them on console a long time ago.

There you have it folks, because Renton's "only 4 steam friends" didn't get it, it didn't sell. Ya I guess the same goes for Torchlight and various other games that have sold in and around the $4.99. Oh how about Alien Swarm that was free. Damnit! That game must have really sucked! Definitely priced that way because they don't sell. You are a genius.

You train to be an asshole or it comes naturally?

The number of words you put in my mouth are insane. I said only 4 of my Steam's friends have it, not that my only 4 friends doesnt. I have 150+ frineds (without the groups) and I did a comparission with DiRT 2 wich the Steam version is own by 47 of them (I used DiRT 2 because is a GFWL title too wich can be or not added to the Steam game list).

I've never bought a Fighting Game for neither the console or PC. Even in the arcade machines never like all the MK, SF, KoF, KI, etc. Is a genre I dont care about, like RTS, Sports (other than racing) or MMORPG.

My friends are real-life friends, not people on a PC.

Good for you, I'm glad you don't like fighting games. That doesn't give you some god given right to make statements like...

Fight games sucks. Fight games on PC sucks even more.

Which to me means jack shit and says to me that you don't know jack shit about the popularity of fighting games on PC or console or arcades for that matter. In reality a lot of people buy fighting games and sports games that require gamepads. They are more popular than you can obviously imagine.

I found this article amusing but accurate because I have SF4 on PC but it's bootleg. So I can see where they are coming from.

It was an opinion, not a flat fact.

Also, Wich is the name of the contacts list in Steam? "Friends", idiot. Plain and simple, I call the list list by its name.

Renton> I think it's just a genre that isnt appealing for the PC

That opinion, as you call it, is wrong but then you back up your opinion with another stupid point.

Renton> Even in past Steam offers at $4.99 the game wont sell.

Are you inferring the game sucked and they offered it for 4.99 and still didn't sell? Because where's your proof? I told you many games that are very popular also went on sale for $4.99 (Eg. Torchlight/Alien Swarm). So again, this comments is stupid. The if the stupidity get's worse when you further backed up your opinion with this...

Renton> Only 4 of my Steam friends have it.

Which means jack shit. Wow.. lets call Wikipedia so they can update their page and say that because only 4 of your friends have it it must suck. But then your idiocy doesn't stop...

Renton> To compare it with another GFWL title DiRT 2 is owned by 47 of my friends.

Again means jack shit. You are comparing a fighting game to a completely different genre of games...47 of your friends means jack shit to the world of gaming on PC or for that matter, who plays what.

Renton> It was an opinion, not a flat fact.

Also, Wich is the name of the contacts list in Steam? "Friends", idiot. Plain and simple, I call the list list by its name.

Oh and don't you know that name calling makes you look stupid and immature and people wont take you seriously? First it was asshole, then it's idiot. By the looks of my cross examination of your so called opinion.. I think you are the idiot. Have a nice day. And that's which not Wich. If you go to the Advanced tab in Firefox, there is an option that can help you spell properly.

So to you is better compare SFIV (a triple A title) with Torchlight and Alien Swarm?

Is like comparing Crysis with Audiosurf. I compared it against another GFWL and triple A title, one that when it was in a sale day it went to 6-9 bucks and its seals like hot bread.

The problem is that your are so an incredible egocentric maniac that the only point of view and understanding of things is yours and you back everything up trying to diminish everyone that doesnt agree with you.

Doesnt worth it anymore to answer and discuss with an idiot. Maybe others could start to confusing with one also.

I couldn't care less about SF series. I guess no one with half a brain will buy that crap for any platform. GG series has tons more characters (that don't suck compared to lame chars in last SF IV which I pirated, played for 4 minutes and deleted) and there are more of better titles than SF which offer more for the money invested.

On a side note: Alien Swarm does suck. That's why it's free.

PS. using piracy as an excuse for not releasing a title for one platform or the other is lame. It costs them little to nothing to do it. TRUE reason for not releasing it on PC is that due to piracy on PC console owners would probably DL it and play it on PC instead of buying it for their console (since most of, if not all, console owners have a PC). That's why PC is awesome :D

besides, back in the days of PS2 (mars chips) when piracy was bad on PC as much as on PS2, no one complained. I didn't see titles like "we are stop producing games because piracy is bad", they just went the way they had to. Notice that back then titles had more quality gameplay wise than now. They had to make an effort to sell the game and to earn respect needed to make someone actually BUY your product in the sea of pirated stuff. Now thanks to sony, god bless them, they can shell out crap and sell it for ps3 only.

btw. on every torr. tracker xbox 360 version of the game get's more downloads than PC instance of the same. I guess when PS3 get's openly cracked, it will get the numbers as xbox360 DLs. Then we will finally have some more quality instead of quantity in titles.
