Mafia 2 DLC Announced - briefly
(hx) 10:50 AM CEST - Jul,17 2010
2K Games has announced yet more downloadable content for Mafia II, 2K Czech's moody mobster game. One pack is called The Betrayal of Jimmy which will be a PS3 launch-day exclusive. The other is called Jimmy’s Vendetta, which will be released at some point after for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Word is: "In Jimmy’s Vendetta, which will be available for PlayStation 3 system, Xbox 360 and PC, players will get their hands dirty helping Jimmy clean up other people’s messes. New city-based missions and locales will give players many new reasons to head back to Empire Bay. Jimmy’s Vendetta will offer more replay action and allow players to outrank friends as they rise to the top of the leaderboard. Details on pricing and availability for Jimmy’s Vendetta will be revealed at a later date." Mafia II is due out for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on August 24, preceded by a demo earlier in the month. 2K revealed the PC system requirements last week.

2K Games has announced that they will only give their paying customers a part of the game in the retail box, and if they want the whole thing they have to pay through the nose to buy the remaining content online; they call this downloadable content and it is a blatant move to maximize profits. ;)

Makes me wonder why they even put this announcement out, either majority of their customers are complete noobs (very likely) and appreciate know a bunch of DLC's are coming out right after release lol. Or 2k are idiots for letting those who are already sick of the DLC marketing riot.

I take it modding tools won't be out, cus that would be alike allowing PC customers to make their own content to share and extend the games playability.

I can't argue for it. The whole DLC system is a sham and makes me feel ripped off every time.
