 Borderlands DLC Released - briefly
(hx) 01:30 AM CET - Dec,10 2009
Some PC players can now rejoice and purchase The Island of Dr. Ned for their copy of Borderlands through the Gearbox Store. The Steam version of the DLC is online as well, here's word from there on the DLC:
The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is the first Add-On for Borderlands with new enemy types, new missions, and new ... surprises.

The Jakobs Corporation would like to invite you to experience the splendor of a corporate owned small town known as Jakobs Cove. Any rumors you may have heard about the "undead" walking our streets are completely preposterous and we officially deny them all. If those rumors turn out to be true simply purchase a firearm from the conveniently located Jakobs Brand Vending Machines and aim for the head. Also, would you mind saving our employees? (Non-union only please)

• 5 New Areas to Explore
• Dozens of New Missions
• New Enemies to Eviscerate

PS3Trophies.org documents five new Borderlands trophies, leading to speculation that more arena combat will be on the way. Trophies include the following:

* Small Tournament - Completed the lesser challenge in all 3 coliseums
* Hell-Burbia - Completed the larger challenge in the Hell-Burbia coliseum
* The Angelic Ruins - Completed the larger challenge in The Angelic Ruins coliseum
* The Gully - Completed the larger challenge in The Gully coliseum
* Big Tournament - Completed each of the larger challenges in all 3 coliseums

No further word on what and when, or on the PC DLC.

This game was a mildly amusing filler whilst waiting for L4D2 to come out. But although L4D2 was a big disappointment it will take a lot more than this to get me and my mob to go back to Borderlands. And to have to actually PAY to go back to it. That's a joke.

The adverts said 'RPG and FPS had a baby..' but frankly they didn't really meet us half-way. Us FPS guys are used to dozens of moving targets and you never face more than ten at once in Borderlands. It's just not hectic enough. Plus with all the enemies levelling up at the same time the point of getting bigger guns and more levels is worthless. I want to fight a fifty level 1s not 1 level 50. That's the FPS way!

Go Gearbox, not a chance, you can keep your content!
