Modern Warfare 2 - the first reviews - briefly
(hx) 05:03 PM CET - Nov,09 2009
Here's a list of  Modern Warfare 2 Reviews: The Guradian - 5/5 || The Telegraph - 10/10 ||  4players.de - 88% || GamePro.de - 93% || Gaming Bolt 10/10 ||  JustPushStart - 4.5/5 || GamesonSmash - 4.5/5 ||  ||  Videogamezone - 91/100 || wearetheinternetz - No Score || Soft Sailor - No score. Yeah, everyone is saying the same thing: this game rocks.
Now for the good stuff; multiplayer. Multiplayer for Call of Duty 4 is mostly what made it so popular and in Modern Warfare 2 it gets even better. The addition of many killstreaks and having the ability to customize which ones you want ,with a max of 3 available at once, is where this game's multiplayer action really differs from Call of Duty 4. Even in objective modes like Search and Destroy, you can gain killstreaks throughout the course of many rounds, granted you don't die at the end of the round. And if you try using you stealth class from Call of Duty 4 or World at War in this game you might not be safe with the addition of Heartbeat sensors as an attachment to certain weapons which detect movement. Of course there is a perk to counter that though. Many perks from Call of Duty 4 have been made into attachments or equipment. There are many additions to the game that will really let you personalize your class to your liking, much more so than the previous Call of Duty games. I saw a lot of people running around with many different class setups instead of seeing everyone with the same 5 as in the other games. You can now unlock titles and emblems for yourself that show up in game. Modern Warfare 2 has added more modes as well. Here are the new additions to the game:

Demolition – Attack & Defend two bombsites (Similar to Sabotage with full re-spawns)
3rd Person Teams – Third Person Perspective with Team Deathmatch, Domination, CTF and Demoliton
Hardcore Ricochet Search and Destroy – Hardcore S&D where friendly fire will kill you
3rd Person Cage Match – 1v1 Deathmatch in Third Person

The added guns to the game are also cool, and the models for them are extremely detailed. With all the additions to multiplayer, it can take a little getting used to but is extremely fun. Nothing like killing an enemy and stealing his Care Package (random killstreak reward) only to find out it's an AC-130...satisfaction. For the fans of the original Modern Warfare, this game still maintains the same core gameplay mechanics as Call of Duty 4. Modern Warfare 2 might just be the most fun I have ever had playing a game online.
Note: Infinity Ward's community manager Robert Bowling has tweeted that if you have already bought the PC version of the game from a retailer, 'you can play it on 11.10.09.' That means the game, which uses Steam, won't unlock for those players until the street date, unlike the PS3 and Xbox 360 version which can be played right away. People who pre-ordered the game via Steam won't be able to play the game until November 13.

I prefer this game on console myself but I'm buying 3 copies for my pc's. I expect on pc it will be much like console which is perfect, easy as pie to get into a real pure game. No mods and no questionable servers. Guys at work are talking getting together and playing it at night, sounds like fun. I think there will be less whiners on PC so it wont be annoying like cod4 and 5. No more pb means harder for people to cheat. All in all, I will be tired when I get to work the next day. 8)

"hey keep fucking the pc gamers over its great, anyone who pc games and supports this game is a fucking tool."

That must make Tom a toolbox then :) but good on Tom for supporting it. IW are going to need you Tom. Your 3 copies will make up for darknothing and myself boycotting it.

"I prefer this game on console myself "

yeah and I prefer playing racing games using a trackball. No not really.

"No mods and no questionable servers."

sounds like a decent game worth investing in for longterm playability. NOT

.. well at least you won't get owned by skilled players just noobs, laggers and spammers oh and people who don't whine lol, frankly the game sounds like a waste of time, multiplayer is =consolized suckage, this really isn't an e-sport fps game. Its right up your street, for the casual gamers and fps gaypad players, still now that you won't have cheaters or decent gamers to rage at for your poor skill, like no punkbuster, which I might add is way better than VALVe's SUPER SHIT VAC CRAP! and not to mention alot faster to get into a COD game when it was just pb and a cdkey check than having to startup the STEAMING SHIT CLIENT, update, close ads, run game... and then to find some shitty server lag on, I mean play :) what a great setup. NOT

oh and a lack of dedicated servers, that will really stop hackers eh.. then again maybe they won't bother with this crap either, after all they should be able to win now :)

Hey Koogle, you should really look into getting that thumb out of your ass and put it back in your mouth. You whiners are so insignificant, it's so sad you can't see that.

quote:
Analysts expect the game to gross $837 million (£500 million) in sales.

Again, you are like the other pc whiners, an insignificant POS. All stores in my city, sold out on all platforms. If this is an indication of how it's going these guys are gonna definitely set a record.

I game on both console and pc. Yep I have the skills most PC gamers can't handle or grasp. They can wack off, but they can't figure out how to use a gamepad. What a shame. Not my fault you are incapable of challenge but if you feel better insulting me, oh wait, it's all you do to anyone here then so be it. Who can't sling mud around? Or maybe your problem is because working at McDonalds doesn't pay well and you're angry? Maybe you should look into working at Burger King with your Dad.[/quote]

It will definitely set a record in making stupid pricks go out and buy new graphics cards and then whine because it all wasn't worth it.

The game rocks! I like it on pc better overall though and its smooth as silk maxxed with no aa. It's just like I figured it would be. Better lighting, better models and the fx overall are great even the physics are really good. Death cam is also better. The guns look awesome and the light gleaming off them is cool too. The single player is a lot of fun and challenging on harder mode. Not aimbot crap ai either, it's realistic and they knife you in close encounters. I've been more occupied with the campaign mode but mp is just how I like it, easy to get into a game with no hassles. I'm looking forward to playing all the mp types and so far certainly no problem joining a server. Definitely more fun than COD4 and 5.
