  • 3000AD MMOG Tease - Galactic Command Online is a new website from 3000AD teasing mysterious plans for an upcoming MMOG from the independent developer. The page says "10-15-09", the date when more will be revealed. Word is:
    'THE MMO COMPETITION WILL HAVE A LOT TO WORRY ABOUT. WE RETURN TO OUR PLAYGROUND.'
  • WRC Announced - Black Bean Games announces WRC, a game based on the FIA World Rally Championship racing series. WRC will be released for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 next year.
  • S.H.M.U.P Demo - S.H.M.U.P (video) puts you in command of up to fifteen independent ships, defending your wall against a never ending collection of enemies and massive bosses. To aid you in your defence, you have access to a plethora of upgrades and awesome exploding, homing missiles
  • Empire: Total War Patch & Map Plans - Creative Assembly announced plans for an upcoming patch to update Empire: Total War to version 1.5 and add four free new maps to the real-time strategy sequel. All the maps will be enabled for all team sizes - 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4, allowing them all to be played by any number of players.
  • BattleCast Primetime Season 2 Episode 3 - Joe 'KANE' Kucan is back in the host seat again alongside Raj Joshi in a new 30-min BattleCast Primetime episode featuring an exclusive first look in-game at the Crawler's in Command & Conquer 4 and much more.
  • CrimeCraft Goes Free to Play - Vogster Entertainment announced that you'll be able to play Crimecraft for as long as you want, without paying... but if you decide it is something worth paying for (not bloody likely), you'll be able to for more features n' stuff.
  • Battlefield 1943 Preorders - The EA Store is now accepting preorders for the Windows edition of Battlefield 1943, DICE's World War II shooter. As they tweet: "BF1943 coming to PC featuring 32 players, joystick support, server browser, & more PC goodness! Reserve your copy now at EAStore.com. The downloadable game has been priced at $15, a figure in line with the console versions. Unique features of the PC version include 32-player multiplayer matches, joystick support and a server browser.
  • Left 4 Dead 2 Preorders Begin - Valve announces preorders of Left 4 Dead 2 are now being accepted, revealing that preorders on Steam get a 10% discount off the MSRP of the co-op zombie shooter sequel, and they are also discounting the Left 4 Dead four-pack and the Left 4 Dead bundle. As previously reported, pre-orders will also get first crack at the Left 4 Dead 2 demo which will be made available for them on October 27 (everyone else will wait for an extra week before getting access). Finally, pre-orders get the exclusive baseball bat melee weapon to knock off some undead pests.
  • Ambitious L4D Mod: Cold Case, Coming October 31st - Titled Cold Case, the feature set is pretty ambitious, boasting 36 total maps split between 6 campaigns, as well as some character upgrades and "evolving zombies". There's a video showing off a level from their Beta process called The Prison.
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - The Callsign Editor - IGN has an article on the new Callsign Editor for Modern Warfare 2. Not unlike Street Fighter IV, you'll be able to pick a Title and an Emblem, which will represent your online self while gaining ranks and shooting fools. Each Title and Emblem will be unlocked as you play.
  • Buy One Crap Game, Get a Second Free! - Steam has a pretty terrible deal going on right now. If you go over there and buy Raven Squad (currently rated a 38/100 over on Metacritic) you can get Legendary (rated 50/100) for no charge.
  • The Ballad of Gay Tony Vehicles - Rockstar has posted some info about the new vehicles that will feature in The Ballad of Gay Tony. Five new screenshots are included.
  • CD Projekt Buyout - Polish developer CD Projekt is rumoured to be the subject of a bizarre takeover offer by struggling IT company Optimus. Optimus' business is broadly spread across the IT sector, though it has struggled to recapture the success it enjoyed throughout the nineties. The alleged buyer is based in Polish capital Warsaw, as is CD Projekt. According to a Polygamia report, Optimus has successfully acquired CD Projekt in exchange for stock, and in the process has made The Witcher developer a publicly-traded company.  CD Projekt confirmed purchase rumours here
  • Spore Film Plans - The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision Blog reports that the film rights to Spore have been picked up by 20th Century Fox to create a CG animated feature based on EA Maxis' evolutionary game.
  • Warcraft Film Details - IMDB has updated details on the Warcraft movie, which is now titled Warcraft: The Rise of the Lich King. The movie is slated for a 2011 release.
