TechNews - GeForce GTX 285 Tested - tech|
| (hx) 01:20 PM CET - Jan,25 2009 |
- Nvidia GeForce GTX 285 Tested - There are no surprises with
the GTX 285 - It
delivers the 10% increase in performance commensurate with its higher
clockspeeds in most games. However, we find it rather disappointing that
Nvidia used a smaller heatsink, causing temperatures to remain as high as
they were on the GTX 280. Another area in which the GTX 285 falls short is
power consumption, which remains nearly as high as before.

- CUDA from NVIDIA - Turbo-Charging High Performance -
To understand CUDA, you must first know what GPGPU is. Simply put, it is
the technique in which the GPU is employed to handle and perform
computations that were previously handled only by the CPU. As detailed in
our previous article, there are many advantages to doing so, chief amongst
which is speed, but unfortunately, getting the GPU to handle tasks
traditionally performed by the CPU isn't quite so simple.

like Skype, wouldn’t you be willing to pay a little bit more to have a
laptop with a better camera?
