 TechNews - Windows 7: Beta 1 tracking for mid-Dec - tech
(hx) 01:11 AM CEST - Sep,13 2008
  • Intel X48 Motherboard Round-up: ASUS, ECS, Intel - And it looks like the ASUS Rampage Formula is the best one.
  • New $89 Laptop (video) - For this price, it looks pretty nice and could easily be a rival for the OLPC.
  • Microsoft SideWinder X5 Gaming Mouse and X6 Gaming Keyboard Tested - 2000 DPI is enough and laser seem to track nicely over variety of surfaces
  • New MacBooks could arrive in October - Aside from the potentially new chipsets, upcoming MacBooks will feature a "redesigned exterior" and Intel's latest 45nm mobile processors, CNet News predicts. The new lineup could also include a "MacBook touch" with a 13.3", glass-covered touch screen
  • Microsoft on IE8--speed not top priority - The user interface was Microsoft's top priority when building its latest version of Internet Explorer, not performance benchmarking
  • Windows 7: Beta 1 tracking for mid-December - If the Microsoft development trend is to be assumed then we could expect Windows 7 on our desktops by Early 2010.
  • Tool Makes Fake YouTube Pages, Spreads Malware - Panda Security said it has uncovered a tool circulating in underground hacking forums, dubbed YTFakeCreator, that enables anyone to easily create a fake YouTube page that surreptitiously installs a Trojan, virus, or adware on a visitor's computer, said Ryan Sherstobitoff, chief corporate evangelist of Panda Security.
  • iTunes 8 installs BSOD-causing drivers on Windows - iTunes 8 installs not only QuickTime, but also Apple Mobile Device Support, MobileMe, and two driver updates. One of those drivers-a USB controller update-reportedly identifies itself in many users' blue-screen error messages
  • iPhone 2.1 firmware released - There's a lots of improvements, but not everything it allright. It takes a lot longer now to catch WiFi networks, even known ones. And the contact list now puts blank spaces inbetween the phone numbers. Which wouldn't be so bad if it put them where they belong... which it doesn't. Actually it tries to put them according to a country scheme. That only works if you put the international code before the number.
  • Latest Microsoft ad is longer, funnier, still weird (video) - Microsoft has released the second ad in its new campaign...Now personally I can't identify with any of the people in the ad, and is sure as hell isn't going to make me buy (or try) Vista until Windows 7 launch, but it probably made me a bit more likely to use other Microsoft software, some of which is actually not half bad.
  • The Latest Online 'I'm a Mac' Ad (video) - The latest ad to hit the Internet has a wide banner at the top of the CNN.com page "talking" to a skyscraper ad along the right side of the same page. In it, the "I'm a Mac" guy occupies the top part of the page and he talks to the "And I'm a PC" guy who occupies the space in the sidebar. The actual dialogue isn't all that different from what you see on TV with these ads, but the implementation and creativity certainly warrants some attention. I also like how the PC panel has a fake news article titled "Stop Switching To Mac", using the PC guy as the embedded image. Apple certainly is forward-thinking, doing its best to approach audiences who may not be quite as exposed to the ads on TV. Anyways, check it out for yourself.
  • Nine Inch Nails Concerts aren't really "fail" - BSODs have been plaguing NIN on their current tour. In fact, one has been popping up on the giant display behind them at just about every concert. So what's the deal? Will Trent be forced to fire is tech guy? Hardly. The truth is that it is all part of the act! :-)
  • BMW exec confirms electric city car - German automaker is working on a 'mega city car' that will carry an all-new look, and two powertrains
  • You should never ask for help on the internet - This is a shining example of the internet at work.
  • Rain + Porsches - Traction = Entertainment (video) - Spa, rain and rear engines...what could be better? Enjoy this clip, especially the helmet-cam part!
  • Super Mario Rescues The Princess (video) - Too bad the princess is not impressed by what she sees ;-)
  • Cat beating up printer (video) - This cat is using a printer as a boxing opponent.
  • Roxanne Pallet sexy in Loaded Magazine - Roxanne 'Roxy' Pallett (born 26 December 1982 in Carlisle, Cumbria) is an English actress most famous for playing the role of Jo Stiles in the ITV1 soap opera, Emmerdale. In January 2006, she appeared in ITV's live music show Soapstar Superstar. Soapstar Superstar.
  • Megan Fox Maxim Photos - Megan Fox can be found in the October issue of Maxim magazine. Enjoy!
  • Pilar Montenegro Maxim Photos - Pilar Montenegro really heats up the pages of Maxim! What do you think? :P
  • Gemma Atkinson 2009 Calendar Pictures Makes Us Nuts! -Take a look at these new pictures of Gemma Atkinson from her 2009 Nuts Magazine calendar! If these aren't some of the hottest pictures of Gemma Atkinson you've ever seen then you should really look at these photos again!
