Splinter Cell: Conviction Officially Delayed - briefly|
| (hx) 01:30 AM CEST - Jul,25 2008 | | Ubisoft Montreal's next Splinter Cell title, initially announced as
Splinter
Cell: Conviction, has been
delayed until Ubisoft's 2009-2010 fiscal year, the publisher confirmed
today. The stealth-action PC and Xbox 360 game is now expected to arrive between
April 1, 2009 and March 30, 2010, instead of the previous estimated release
between January 1 and March 30, 2009. Curiously, Ubisoft only referred to the
game as Splinter Cell in the announcement, suggesting the Conviction subtitle
may have been dropped. Rumors abounded that the game was being taken back to the
drawing board by developer Ubisoft Montreal, supposedly because it didn't stack
up to another U-M effort: Assassin's Creed. Ubisoft denies the story, but
Conviction has not been seen publicly at either UbiDays 2008 nor this month's E3
show. |
