Weekend Reading - Crysis SDK released - briefly
(hx) 01:01 PM CET - Feb,23 2008
  • Demigod Preview - Demigod's lead designer John Comes points out that RTS creators never responded to popular user-created variants of major games the way that FPS makers did with mods like Counter-Strike. He's trying to do just that with Demigod, a full-featured RTS-hybrid inspired by the popular Warcraft III custom map Defense of the Ancients -- usually "DotA" for short.
  • Sacred 2: Fallen Angel Preview  - The most interesting part of the demo were the mounts. Each of the six character classes can ride a horse to more rapidly traverse the countryside or unlock class specific ones. The latter type allow characters to utilize a majority of their special skills while mounted – certainly useful. If you're to disembark the mount will follow you around, and can be dismissed and recalled whenever you see fit. As far as gameplay goes, it seems like standard action-RPG fare. Each character type amasses skills or magical or melee types which can be slotted on a quickbar at the bottom of the screen. Some classes can dual wield, some can carry shields, and others are limited to single weapons.

Eurogamer: Where would you say? The one that's often mentioned to me is places where PlayStation is strong, such as Southern Europe.

John Schappert: Yes, you hit the nail on the head. We look, and we are hitting the ball out of the park in North America, and I think that there's regions of Europe where we're not doing as well as we'd like to do, and we have room for improvement. Those are renewed areas and key areas of focus for us.

That's always the case. Some countries/people can't stand Microsoft products and see them as a monopoly. (which they are, not just for gamers either. Why else are they never out of the courts  )

I like originality, which XBox can't really do imo.
The PS3,DS and Wii are leagues ahead in all depts.
They also cater better for gamers and are more imaginative in their design and use, efficient is the word - typical japanese.
Also, HD-DVD is dead so that's the XBox360 binned

They just don't get it, if a gamer can pick up a game without having to memorise a dozen button combinations or consult a manual, purely because of unique control systems, then they've cracked it!
The DS/Wii does that and more and now that the PS3 has the Blu-ray market....need i say more 8)
Yes you wanted major sales from HD M$, just 3percent lol that's because you didn't add it from the start -tight a$$es. PS3 will stomp all over you just from sales alone for a (cheap) stand-alone Blu-Ray player.
