| (hx) 09:32 PM CET - Jan,28 2008 | | Ars
Technica reports that Sony is indeed planning to discontinue their 80 GB
model for the PS3 console, as previously rumored last week. However the story
adds that Sony will replace that version wit h one that has a larger hard drive
for the same price of $499. Word is: "An insider from Sony was able to divulge
information that the company has plans of bringing out the 120-160 GB models of
the PS3. He added that these 120-160 GB models will be coming out with the same
price as the 80GB model. The release of these models will have the new Dual
Shock 3 controllers as well. Even though Sony has released a 'no comment'
statement regarding the rumor spreading, the insider said that the company will
phase out the 80 GB PS3 along with the Spider-Man 3 pack-in bundle. " |
