TechNews - AMD shows off Radeon HD 3870 X2 - tech
(hx) 10:16 PM CET - Nov,18 2007
  • AMD confirms delay of 2.4GHz Phenom - Seems that problems in the Transition Lookaside Buffer (TLB). Intel had problems with their TLB earlier this year, but were able to fix the problem with a microcode update. As this isn't possible on AMD's platform, they simply have to recall the processors.
  • Abit IP35 Pro Off Limits Mobo Tested (Intel P35) - In many ways, the Abit IP35 Pro reminds the ASUS Commando motherboard, which was another a 'no-frills' board that was designed to offer performance and overclocking above featuers
  • AMD shows off Radeon HD 3870 X2 - AMD'S ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 marks first real dual-GPU supported and manufactured by AMD. Beneath the cooler there are two chips. Each has its own 512MB of memory!
  • BitMicro pumps solid state drives to 1.6TB - The company's E-Disk Altima, expected to ship in Q1 2008, will come in a 3.5-inch format and support 4Gbit/s Fibre Channel. BitMicro says the Altima offers sustained rates of more than 230MB/s and upwards of 55,000 I/O operations per second. To compare, a fast disk drive will get about 400 I/O operations per second.
  • Enlarged Triple Layer HD DVD Finally Gets Approved -  Manufacturers can now begin production of HD DVD read-only discs that can hold up to 51GB (3 x 17) of data
  • NVIDIA ForceWare 169.09 - Crysis rendering follow-up - Utilising ForceWare 169.09, there is no longer any performance drop from renaming the Crysis executable, but performance overall is around 7% lower than that seen in the previous driver set, putting it on a par with the older driver with the game EXE renamed. This is still faster than the older ForceWare 163.69 WHQL driver, but suggests that much of the additional performance seen in ForceWare 169.01 through to 169.04 was due to that water reflection rendering issue. Case closed.
  • Firefox Exploit can Hack Gmail - An exploit for Firefox, reported 10 days ago and as of yet still not patched, is giving attackers access to Google accounts, including gmail. Firefox users are advised to use NoScript or turn off javacript on unknown webpages and stay logged out of their Google Accounts until a fix is issued
  • The Rise of a Planet (pics) - check it out
  • Hot Chick Hits On Girls Boyfriend (video) - Some chick tries to pick up a girls boyfriend while he is sitting with her eating lunch. When she finally succeeds and the girlfriend storms off she ditches the dude.
  • Horrible Disease Turns Man Into Tree (video) - Whoa!!! Poor guy...
  • Kid Sticks Face In Fire Ant Hole - This kid sticks his face directly into a fire ant hole and tries to hold it there for 10 seconds ;-) Check out the bites they leave, nasty...He looks like Freddy Krueger junior ;-)
  • Susie Castillo Maxim Photos - Miss USA Susie Castillo teamed up with Maxim magazine recently for an interview and photo shoot

Ravenheart> The tree guy MUST be a fake

Unfortunately, it looks quite real

quote:

When he cut his knee as a teen, a virus entered his body - HPV. Human Papillmavirus (HPV) is the bug which commonly causes warts and other skin diseases. Those of us who had or have warts can usually fight off this bug with our immune systems.

But in Dede's case, things get a little more complicated. He suffers from a rare genetic fault which renders his immune system void in helping stop the spread of this virus through his body. The video clip below demonstrates the shattering reality of this in Dede’s life.
