Team Fortress 2 Benchmarks - tech|
| (hx) 12:07 PM CEST - Sep,19 2007 |
The chaps over at
AMD Zone have published some GPU benchmarks for Team Fortress 2:
We utilized FRAPS to test out the game, and ran through the same portion of the game for 30 seconds to get our average numbers shown below. The settings were at the absolute maximum for each benchmark except AA is 4X and AF is 8X. The game certainly has a unique shading look, and is not as intensive as the Unreal 3 engine based Bioshock we recently tested.
At 1280X1024 we don't see many surprises. The 8800s are tied at 152 frames per second, or 9,120 frames per minute in Inquirer Marks. That is equal to 4.6 billion frames per year. The drop off to the 2nd tier DX10 cards is clear. The 8600GTS maintains over 60 FPS, but the 8600GT and 2600XT fall back to 48FPS. We don't yet have our 8800 GTX numbers, but we would expect something approaching 200 FPS.
At 1600X1200 the 8800 GTS cards are still around 100 FPS while the 8600GTS is knocked down below 50. The 2600XT edges out the 8600GT by a frame at 34.
