Far Cry 2 announced - briefly

Ubisoft sent out a press release announcing Far Cry 2, the sequel to the 2004 released first person shooter. The publisher had previously announced a deal with original Far Cry developer Crytek to buy the rights to the Far Cry franchise. The new game will be developed by UbiSoft's Montreal studio for release in spring 2008. No other info on the game was announced. Far Cry 2 is featured in an exclusive first look in the October issue of PC Gamer, available on newsstands in North America on August 21, 2007.

So in the eyes of gamers this is likely to be Farcry 1.5? Considering Crysis.
