Lost Planet Coming To The PC - briefly|
| (hx) 11:17 PM CEST - Apr,13 2007 |
Gamasutra reports that
Capcom will release a PC port of their best selling Xbox 360 action game Lost
Planet this June in the US and Europe. According to the story the PC version
will feature 'Extreme High Definition' (XHD) support, with resolutions up to
2560x1600 pixels, as well as 'advanced special effects, and improved lighting
and shadows.' Although DirectX 10 is only supported by Windows Vista, it is
unclear whether a version of the game will be released which is compatible with
earlier versions of the Windows operating system. Capcom expects to ship Lost Planet for PC this June.
Update: There is a subsequent confirmation of this on GameSpot. Also, Shacknews was able to get hands on time with Lost Planet last night. By default, the game uses a standard WASD-style control scheme with mouselook, which translates over well from the dual analog stick configuration of the Xbox 360 controller. The game also includes built-in support for the Xbox 360 controller, and features fully mappable keyboard and mouse controls. The game was being demonstrated on a machine equipped with a quad-core PC and an NVidia 8800GTX video card and they say there did not seem to be any major performance issues. |
