  • Intel & AMD Price War Starting In April - AMD on April 9 is expected to announce big discounts across its entire Athlon 64+ product line and its lower-end processors. Some of the reductions will be as high as 30 percent, but like Intel, AMD is leaving some of its popular processors unaffected, such as the 4200+.
  • Intel's Gelsinger reveals new Penryn details - Intel padded out plans for its upcoming Nehalem and Penryn CPUs. You may well be surprised by what's coming this way in 2008. Integrated memory controllers, new system architectures, boosted Core microarchitecture performance were just some of the topics covered. 
  • New low-end GeForce 8500GT will have 128-bit controller - On April 17th, Nvidia is set to introduce 8500GT, which will feature a chip with a full 128-bit memory controller, supporting either 256 or 512MB of DDR2 SDRAM memory.

  • Windows Vista goes to Boot Camp - Atop the list of enhancements delivered in the new version is 32-bit support for Windows Vista, support the Apple Remote (works with iTunes and Windows Media Player), and a version of Apple Software Update designed specifically for Windows XP and Vista.
