Nintendo recalls 3.2m Wii straps - console|

After tons of YouTube videos of people damaging TVs, walls and even
themselves with the Nintendo Wii's remote controller,
Nintendo has finally issued a recall of the Wiimote's original wrist strap.
The strap is connected to a motion sensitive controller which is used to control
the on-screen action. The console has been a huge hit for the company with more
than 325,000 machines sold in Europe in just two days, more than 600,000 sold in
the US and more than 400,000 on launch day in Japan.
This
page on Nintendo's website has a sign up page for Wii owners to replace the
controller's original strap for the new one. Nintendo expects to start shipping
the replacements on Dec. 21.
In other news, Nintendo has announced that it is recalling some 200,000 DS Lite chargers in Japan after an overheating issue caused concern.
