| (hx) 01:18 PM CET - Nov,09 2006 |
- G80 hits 23K on 3DMark06 -
How about 23,000 in 3DMark06? That's what Kingpin got on a massively
overclocked Conroe with a couple of G80 cards. The scary part is he thinks
they can go much higher than that.
NVIDIA 680i: The Best Core 2 Chipset? - NVIDIA has finally got it right
on the Intel platform and
the 680i is
definitely worthy of being called the Hard-Core Enthusiast chipset.
- Kingston Data Traveler Secure 4GB Review -
This drive uses
256-bit AES hardware encryption and wraps the drive in a durable case to
keep it safe during daily use.
- Samsung reveals the SPH-P9000 innovative folding PDA -
This is what I
would call a real Origami device. The SPH-P9000 comes with a full QWERTY
keyboard that looks as big as these portable keyboards you can buy out there
for you PDA or smart phone.
- Samsung unveils SPH-M8100 WiBro IMS handset - Technically
speaking, the
SPH-M8100 is not a cell phone at all, as there are no CDMA or GSM radios
on this thing. Instead, its primary connection is via WiMAX (or WiBro as it
is called in Korea) and IMS, providing you with SIP-based VoIP. IMS, if you
recall, stands for IP Multimedia Subsystem
- Next-Generation Vista Applications Set to Debut -
Look out for a new generation of applications for Windows Vista that
have never been seen before, from well-known companies like the New York
Times and The North Face to smaller firms like Electric Rain.
- Adobe hands Flash code to Mozilla - With the donated code,
Mozilla intends
to kick off a new open-source project dubbed Tamarin that will
eventually become a replacement for SpiderMonkey, Firefox's current
JavaScript interpreter.
- Alcohol Version 1.9.6.4629 released -
The most
interesting new feature, even if not stated in changelog, is that now
it's possible to burn a disc and use the disc instead to mount an image on a
virtual drive.
- Skype 3.0 beta is go - The biggest innovation in
Skype 3.0 (download)
is click-to-call, which eBay will be hoping will justify the $2.6bn it
splurged on Skype. With the help of Google it means a single click on an ad
will dial a sales monkey at the vendor.
- Process Explorer for Windows v10.21 -
Process Explorer shows you information about which handles and DLLs
processes have opened or loaded. The display consists of two sub-windows.
The top always shows a list of the currently active processes, including the
names of their owning accounts, whereas the information displayed in the
bottom window depends on the mode that it is in.
- Mozilla Thunderbird for Windows 1.5.0.8 -
Mozilla
Thunderbird is a redesign of the Mozilla mail component. The goal is to
produce a cross platform stand alone mail application using the XUL user
interface language. The intended customer is someone who uses Mozilla
Firefox (or another stand alone browser) as their primary browser and wants
a mail client based on mozilla that "plays nice" with the browser.
- Mozilla fixes 'critical' flaws -
The vulnerabilities affect 1.5 versions of Firefox and Thunderbird as
well as version 1 of the SeaMonkey suite, Mozilla said in its security
advisories. The bugs do not affect Firefox 2.0, the latest version of the
browser released late last month.
- Google accidentally sends out e-mail worm -
Kama Sutra worm goes out to about 50,000 subscribers of a Google Video
e-mail group.
- Microsoft launches Google Earth killer - Microsoft is about to
upgrade
its mapping product, Live Local, to Microsoft Virtual Earth, a
competitor to Google Earth.
- PS3 Web Browsing Video -
Here is a pretty interesting video of the PS3 browsing the web. The
system uses the clunky PSP interface but the lady giving the demo did say
you can use a USB keyboard as well
- Isis Ball unlock the mystery - A
mind puzzle that you solve by opening an alloy ball that is constructed
in layers and covered in hieroglyphics. Promising that each Isis ball is
unique and requires a different combination to open it, it seems quite
challenging.
- Borat Banned From Russian Movie Theaters - Less than three weeks
before a feature film about Borat, a character created by English comedian
Sacha Baron Cohen, was to open in Russian movie theaters,
the Federal Culture and Cinematography Agency refused to license it out
of concern that the film could offend audiences in this country.
- Sexual Suggestions Aired On Children's TV Show -
On this
old Childrens show, there are many obvious sexual suggestions.
Absolutely Hillarious if above intended viewing age!

One of the comments below on that Rainbow youtube link says that it was meant for a laugh and was never created for public airing. Still pretty funny though.
