| (hx) 01:38 PM CEST - Sep,14 2006 |
- XFX GeForce 7950GT Extreme tested - nVidia's brand spanking new
GeForce 7950GT is a good graphics card -
it's really what
the older 7900GT should have been in the first place. A 512MB good
performing but not ultra expensive graphics card!
- NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT 512MB Shootout - Guru3D has NVIDIA GeForce
7950 GT 512MB Shootout
- GeForce Go 7900GTX vs. Go 7900 GS -
The GeForce Go
7900 GTX is a real beast and it has enough headroom to play games at a
stunning 1920x1200. This makes the GeForce Go 7900 GTX a better candidate for
gaming on larger connected displays than the Go 7900 GS.
- Galaxy GeForce 7600 GS AGP - If you have pretty much a top-end RAM
and CPU setup from the AGP era that simply needs a graphical boost, then
the relatively
modest outlay for Galaxy's GeForce 7600 GS may serve you in good stead,
provided you can factor in the simple fact that it will only ever be a
stop-gap solution before upgrading to a new system with PCI Express support
becomes a necessity. In related news,
EliteBastards take a look at BFG GeForce 7800 GS OC AGP.
- Asus notebook includes new Nvidia GPU -
A new
Core 2 Duo-based notebook just introduced by Asus is playing host to an
equally new GeForce Go 7700. It has the same memory speed as the GeForce
Go 7600, but pixel fill rate is fairly close to that of the GeForce Go 7600
GT. Asus also says the card packs 512MB of DDR2 memory. As for the host
notebook, the Asus A8Js looks like a fairly run-of-the-mill thin and light
Core 2 Duo laptop. It has a 14" wide-screen display, an Intel 945PM chipset,
802.11a/b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, support for up to 2GB of DDR2-667 RAM, and
up to 120GB of storage. The machine weighs in at 5.27lbs, and Asus throws in
an integrated 0.35 megapixel camera to complete the package.
- BenQ FP241W 24in Widescreen Monitor - Talking of gaming, this

if you've got a fast enough PC you'll soon realise how good it is to play
games at such a high resolution.

stuff?
- Windows Vista: DirectX10 D3D Intro -
DirectX 10 won't
be available on Windows XP, as you might well know by this point, and D3D9
performance will be slightly up on Vista because of the new driver model and
runtime architecture. So for a PC gamer, Vista should hold significant appeal
in the long term.

The latest update
