- Will The GPU Merge With The CPU? -
Check out comments from the head
of Alienware and two game developers (Tim Sweeney of Epic and David Wu of
Pseudo Interactive)
- ASUS enthusiast AM2 motherboard duel -
HEXUS has posted a review on two ASUS AM2 motherboards. Both boards have a
hilarious number of BIOS features, but the M2N32-SLI came across as slightly
more tweakable, reflected by the fact that we could overclock the HTT by 10MHz
more than the CROSSHAIR.
- ASUS PhysX P1 -
The
enhanced visual affects afforded by the PhysX PPU will not be matched for at
least another few months, and by that time you should see a considerably
larger amount of hardware support for the card.
- Dell XPS 700 Review -
Bit-Tech take a look at the Dell XPS 700 - Dell's first machine designed
for hardcore gamers. The system offers reasonable value for money as a base
spec with a single card, a decent Core 2 Duo processor and storage. However,
the cost of uprating the system with options is ludicrous!
- Killer NIC gets an early review -
The improvement
with the Killer NIC was noticeable and impressive. Pings to server
dramatically improved, generally ranging from 17-50ms, averaging 45ms over
another two 15 minute sessions. FPS also got a nice bump, jumping our average
from 74 to 86 fps.
- Creative Fatal1ty Keyboard -
The keyboard has
backlighting that can be turned on and off. The keyset is the Sunrex
keyset, which is similar to the feel of a laptop keyboard and has a quick
response time, shorter keystrokes, etc.
- Canon Pixma mini260 vs HP Photosmart A516 - Behardware.com has
tested two inkjet printers.
- FairUse4WM Cracks Windows Media DRM, Again - Only days after
Microsoft patched the FairUse4WM DRM hack,
the creators of
the program have released an update that once again breaks the
restrictions on protected WMA and WMV files.
- Microsoft Delivers Another RC: .Net Framework 3.0 -
The new Release Candidate of the .Net Framework 3.0 includes updated bits
of Windows Presentation Foundation (Avalon), Windows Communications Foundation
(Indigo), Windows Workflow Foundation, CardSpace (InfoSpace) and the .Net
Framework 2.0. The Release Candidate build runs on Vista, Windows XP SP2,
Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1.
- Microsoft Photosynth Poised to Revolutionize Photo Imaging -
Microsoft is currently hard at work on a project it calls
Photosynth.
Currently, the project is under the Microsoft Live development team, and no
release date has been planned. However, what is known about Photosynth is that
it will attempt to revolutionize the way people view their photo collections
as well as change the way people take photos.
- Google maps vs. Yahoo! maps -
Side by side comparison tool by Sergey Chernyshev.
- How BitTorrent Works -
This article examines how BitTorrent works and how it is different from
other file-distribution methods. It also discusses BitTorrent's future on the
Internet.
- Problems hit Debian world - One of the open sauce project Debian's
significant champions,
Matthew Garrett
has quit over the way things are being run.
- 160Mbps down / 120Mbps up cable speeds coming - Cable modem speed
freaks, be patient.
One analyst predicts that by 2011, only 40 percent of consumers will be able
to take advantage of the higher speeds offered by DOCSIS 3.0. DOCSIS 3.0
achieves its speed boost in part through "channel bonding" (using more than
one channel to transmit data) for both up- and downstream transmission.
- LG shows off 32in 3D display -
The only downside was the 4m ideal viewing distance, although this should
be too much of a problem if this was to become a technology used in TVs. The
picture doesn't do it any justice at all, as the camera was unable to capture
the 3D aspect of the panel, but some of the demos looked very impressive.
- TracNet 100 Mobile WiFi and TV Now In Your Car -
The TracNet 100
Mobile puts a WiFi hotspot, web browsing, and IPTV in your car.
- Samsung previews updated credit-card phone -
The SGH-P310 - to give it its full designation - retains the 220 x 176,
262,144-colour display of the P300, along with the latter's 80MB of memory and
Micro SD memory card slot. Again, there's Bluetooth on board, now with A2DP
wireless stereo, it seems. The P300 was a tri-band GSM/GPRS device.
- M300: wristwatch GSM phone with SMS -
First of all, it has SMS capabilities (thus the name). Secondly, it is
indeed a mobile phone, sporting tri-band GSM/GPRS protocols in the
900/1800/1900 MHz ranges.
- NASA Wants Elevator to Space -
The key feature of
a space elevator would be the use of a satellite that will orbit almost
23,000 miles above Earth. At this altitude, known as geostationary orbit, the
orbital period of a satellite moving around the globe matches Earth's
rotation.
- Troops to test liquid armour -
The armour
consists of material impregnated with liquid silica that has been modified
using nanotechnology.

the power of Photoshop when it comes to image manipulation
- PornoTube Breaks into Alexa Top 300 within 2 Months -
PornoTube, which is an adult version of YouTube, breaks into top 300
websites within two months. Since being introduced at TechCrunch, July 25
2006, Alexa now ranks PornoTube.com as the 253rd site on the Web (9/3/2006).
Damn, maybe I should start porno here too :-D
- The History Of Labor Day - Today is Labor Day. Most people
think of Labor Day as a 3 day weekend, while that may be true,
there
is more to it than that
- Steve Irwin Dead - News.com.au is reporting that
Steve Irwin was killed in a freak accident while filming one of his well
known documentaries. Surprisingly it wasn't a crocodile, it was a sting-ray.
