Microsoft's latest patch is
causing headaches for anyone running IE 6 with Service Pack 1 on Windows
XP and Win 2k. MS is aware of the issue and is working on a patch for the
patch.
- Microsoft Insists IE7 is Standards Compliant -
Microsoft's Chris Wilson, the Group Program Manager for IE addresses the issue
of whether IE7 is CSS and Web standards compliant. He says that isn't true
and that standards improvements is a big part of IE7. He admits that there
were a ton of bugs from IE6 that have caused web developers a lot of pain, but
says that IE7 will address those and be standards compliant. He goes as far to
say that IE7 supports Web standards even at the expense of more backwards
compatibility.
- Firefox 2.0 Delayed Until October - According to the weekly
progress meetings,
there are about 100 bugs that need to be squashed before they can release
it.
- Windows Live Makes It Into New Vista Test Builds - Microsoft
is poised to release to a select group of testers
a new interim test of Windows Vista any day now, we hear. That build could
be No. 5506 - or something slightly later, according to testers.

- Movie download service faces spyware lawsuit - Movieland.com and
its associates allegedly
used malware tactics to bombard punters with aggressive pop-up ads that

State attorney general Rob McKenna, is the second lawsuit filed under the
state's Computer Spyware Act.

- Sirius Stiletto 100 - portable live radio -
Besides playing live radio, the device will have storage for 100 hours of
Sirius programming and a further 50 hours that you have downloaded from
other sources. It also seems to have WiFi to give you more options. Battery
life is good for 22 hours of recorded playback, but just four hours of live
radio. When it hits store shelves, the Stiletto is expected to cost
$399.

- Tesla's Initial Batch of 100 Electric Roadsters Sold Out -
CNET
is reporting that the initial batch of 100 Tesla Roadsters has been sold
out. According to Tesla CEO Martin Eberhard, 100 people each dropped down a
$100,000 USD deposit. Some of the lucky future owners include Google
co-founder Larry Page and eBay co-founder Jeff Skull.

- Mission: Impossible III DVD will be first to debut in three formats -
Mission: Impossible III will set a milestone when it is released to video
on October 30, becoming the first movie to be available on DVD, HD DVD and
Blu-ray simultaneously. The high-def version will offer 1080p resolution and
5.1 channel surround sound. Director J.J. Abrams and Tom Cruise's enhanced
commentary will be included in the HD-DVD release which shows the pair talking
in the corner as the movie plays. This feature is possible through HD DVD's
iHD feature, which is not included in rival Blu-ray format.
- YouTube aims to show music videos - Video sharing website YouTube
is in talks with record labels about offering current and archive music
videos. YouTube co-founder Steve Chen told Reuters news agency
it was hoped that within 18 months the site would "have every music video ever
created". The company said it planned to offer the videos free of charge.
