Battlefield 2142 Preview -
CVG is the latest site with a Battlefield 2142 preview, offering hands-on
impressions of this sci-fi shooter which is coming out later this year.
- Civilization IV: Warlords Preview -
Gamespy has a preview of Civilization IV: Warlords, the first official
expansion pack.
- Fields Ops Preview -
GameSpot has posted a preview of Field Ops, an upcoming FPS/RTS hybrid
game which is due out early next year.
- Gears of War Interview - Gamespy has posted
an interview with Epic's Cliffy about Gears of War.
- Total War: Eras Announced - If you've missed out on all of Creative
Assembly's Total War games up to this point, then maybe
Total War: Eras is for you. In stores tomorrow in Europe, and July 25 in
the US (on DVD-ROM only), Total War: Eras includes Shogun: Total War + Mongol
Invasion expansion, Medieval: Total War + Viking Invasion expansion and Rome:
Total War with the Barbarian Invasion and Alexander expansion packs
- War Front: Turning Point Multiplayer Beta -
A multiplayer beta test for the upcoming Digital Reality-CDV alternate history
RTS game War Front Turning Point has been announced. 2,000 Fileplanet
members will be able to join the beta test beginning today at this web site.
Another 13,000 beta testers will be invited on July 7.
- Titan Quest Patch Plans - Iron Lore has announced
a patch for Titan
Quest. They don't have an exact date yet.
- Day of Defeat: Source Patched -
The update, which is available automatically over Steam, adds the new
Detonation game mode to the World War II first-person shooter and a pair of
Detonation maps as well as a number of tweaks and fixes.
- NVIDIA SLI Workaround For Prey Demo - In the meantime, users can
simply copy and paste the Quake 4 profile to make Prey scale. Prey and Quake 4
were developed with the DOOM 3 (OpenGL) engine, and SLI scales very well on
Quake 4.
- Call of Duty 2 Linux Server -
A new version 1.3 Call of Duty 2 dedicated Linux server is now available
for Infinity Ward's World War II first-person shooter sequel.
- Shadowgrounds Level Editor Released - Meridian4 and Forezen byte
have announced the release of
their level editor for the Doom 3 meets Smash TV style game,
Shadowgrounds.
The editor was not created with public distribution in mind, but is now
offered as an unsupported release.
- Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines patch v2.5 -
Another new unofficial patch is now available for Vampire: The Masquerade
- Bloodlines, bringing the action/RPG by defunct developer Troika to version
2.5.
- FlatOut 2 ships (EU/UK) -
This press release announcing that FlatOut 2 arrives in the shops today on
PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC to the delight of racing fans everywhere.
- Armed Assault Delay- The official Armed Assault website previously
had an H1 2006 release date which has
now been
updated to read Q3 2006.
- Project Gray is a Tolkien RPG it seems - Steve Gray has shown some
preview footage at the Hollywood & Games Summit. As
Next-Gen.biz reports, the game is very much Lord of the Rings: "In the
final discussion, Steve Gray, executive producer of the Lord of the Rings
franchise at EA Los Angeles, previewed footage from an upcoming Lord of the
Rings-style game. Gray had blacked out portions of his presentation the
evening before, when he realized he couldn’t reveal certain details of the
project."
- Blizzard Allows Paid Character Transfers for World of Warcraft -
The cost of each paid character transfer is
$25.00 USD per character.
- Call of Duty 2 Invasion Pack Available (Xbox 360) - Activision let
us know that Infinity Ward has released the "Invasion" map pack via Live! The
pack includes five new multiplayer maps.
- Final Fantasy III DS to have WiFi -
IGN
contacted Square Enix about the possiblity of FFIII going online. "I can
confirm that Final Fantasy III contains Wi-Fi," a representative admitted,
"but I can't reveal the details at this time."
- Japanese Developers Negative on PS3? -
According to IGN, a lot of the Japanese developers are pretty negative on the
PS3, citing problems with price, multiple hardware models and the current
launch lineup.
- Over 7000 PSOne Games To Be Emulated On PSP -
According to CVG, who say Sony has officially confirmed its plans for PSone
emulation on the handheld. However, Sony has not confirmed this
information yet, nor have they provided details on just how the emulation will
work.
