Source Game Map Plans - briefly|
| (hx) 09:06 PM CEST - May,16 2006 |
A
new Steam marketing message is up (Is it late or just me?), talking about
the release of Sin Episodes: Emergence as well as map plans for Counter-Strike:
Source and Day of Defeat: Source:
We hope everyone who is playing through the first Sin Episode, Emergence is enjoying the game. From the feedback we've seen, it appears that people are having a lot of fun. It's exciting for us at Valve to see the first episodic game released on Steam, and we're looking forward to our own Episode One coming out in a little less than three weeks.
Counter-Strike: Source and Day of Defeat: Source are also both gearing up for releases in the next few weeks. Counter-Strike: Source has more HDR-enabled versions of maps on the way, along with some enhancements to the game itself. Day of Defeat: Source is getting ready for a significant release that will add a number of new features, along with a new map named Colmar. Colmar is the first map to take advantage of a new objective system that allows us to build different kinds of levels than currently exist. Stay tuned for specifics on how the map plays out, but for now here's a screenshot of the sleepy night-time village.
Update:
According to ritual message boards, there will be an update for Sin Episodes
released on Wednesday. |

last 10 comments: | xxxx | (05:07 PM CEST - May,17 2006 ) | To anyone interested in the Sin game. First off...I didn't pay for it but I can tell you.
- 5 hours game play is a crock (took me 3 hours)
- very little story or narrative except really near the end
- weapons are ok..nothing spectacular
- Dynamic AI is more flooding the map with more baddies, baddies that can peck you off through concrete, steel and platforms
- graphics looked better in screenshots. I am running 1024x768, 16x AF and 4x AA all other settings are on high. There is no HDR and the graphics quality is the same as HL2..(ok, there are big boobs and jiggling boobs, if ur into cartoon porn)
- they throw aliens in that I would swear were ripped from HL1 and updated
- there is a huge bug that impacts your ability to move on and you will have to reset a portion of your stats. There's a fix but now that I finished it who cares?! poor game testing imo, for a 5 hour(as they claim) game, that's pretty sad.
This game as you may or may not suspect is hugely over-rated. At $20 to me, it's a rip. Another 8 Episodes @ $20 pfff, Not me. Ritual is ignoring everyone that is a former Sin player or people that are not impressed at such a short length of gameplay for $20. They will however jump the gun and start thanking anyone who says it was great.. you know every game has it's fanboys no matter how crappy the game..Overall I think the Sin thing is more a money scam than anything. I'm in the boat with the rest of the old-school gamers. This game is a rip plain and simple. The entertainment is just not worth the $20. You've seen everything this game has to offer.
edit: Did want to add, the guys on jetpacks were kinda cool. Not cool I couldn't take their jetpack and in 9/10 times I killed someone they had no weapons on their corpse. I loved when I shot those guys and they went crazy in the air. If anything, I thought this was the most memorable of playing Sin.. (hate to say, for me, that was all the real enjoyment I had and damn glad i got this free) | |
