IMHO, there's no way in hell

I dont agree with this article, yes windows firewall is "only half a firewall"

| xxxx | (03:24 AM CEST - Apr,24 2006 ) | | windows firewall is a good firewall and it's part of the os, no overhead. I think the application block is BS because it does nothing. Eg. ripped version of an app can still call home. There is a option that supposedly disables it, but it's bs. Starforce and stuff can bypass it. I don't like that in the Windows firewall, maybe in ZoneAlarm you can I don't know.. I just don't play games or use apps that bypass my firewall. ZoneAlarm was made for that kind of stuff. Windows firewall is a basic firewall. It blocks people from coming in, what you do to invite them can be taken care of most times with antivirus and spyware removal programs... I simply run the windows firewall and i monitor my system on and off. Nobody is breaking through....If microsoft did build up their firewall, people like zonealarm would cry..Things are fine the way they are imo...you have a choice. | |
