S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Petition - briefly|
| (hx) 11:36 PM CET - Feb,06 2006 | Nosferatu informed us that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. community started
a
petition that states:
We, www.gameru.net, www.stalker-portal.ru, www.stalker-world.com.ua
community, and all the undersigned appeal to the supreme instance of GSC Game
World - Sergey Grigorovich, we ask for a precise, clear, straightforward and
honest answer:
What's happening inside GSC GAME WORLD and the team behind STALKER? What stands
in your way that doesn't allow you to release S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadows of
Chernobyl?
We persistantly ask you, the developers and other departments of the company, to
make a very thorough approach to what you will answer to the petition created by
people who are tired of the permanent flow of contradictory information and once
for all dispel all the disturbance and doubts with your answer. Otherwise you
risk to lose the already reducing amount of fans, undermine your authority
forever and infinitely offence those who respect you. We can be a very
convincing force in your hands and prolong your project's life but only in case
you show us as much respect as we show you.
In related news, Gamemag.ru
has called GSC's director Sergey Grigorovich and asked him about the recent
release date announcement. Here is what he replied: "Yes, the game has really
been moved to the said period. The THQ producer currently located in our office
has decided that this will be best, and we will not dispute. The project is now
at the stage of beta submission." (thanks

| Nosferatu | (06:41 PM CET - Feb,07 2006 ) | | They aren't Russians, they are Ukrainians. Just don't tell something stupid like whatever, ok? I just hate that. | |

Update: Oleg Yavorsky's reply:
First of all, thanks to everyone who has signed the petition for not being indifferent to the fate of the project, for caring about it as we do. This is very important for us.
Furthmore, speaking for GSC Game World, I would like to introduce some clarity in regards to the condition of the project and its release date. Without disclosing any confidential information, the following can be said:
1. What stands in your way that doesn't allow you to release S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadows of Chernobyl?
In the publisher's opinion, the game is not yet ready for release, and demands additional testing and fixing. We are currently at the stage of beta version submission. As soon as the beta version is accepted, the publisher will decide on the exact date of the release.
2. Has the beta been given over to the publisher?
Yes, although the process is still in progress.
3. What exactly (!) is the team doing?
It is implementing changes and fixes demanded by THQ, testing and balancing, correcting programming errors.
4. What's happening inside GSC GAME WORLD and the team behind STALKER?
The team is actively working. Everyone has a clear understanding that the earlier the game comes out, the better. The testers and the programmers are loaded with work. The graphics need some fixes.
PS: regarding the recent statement by the publisher, about the release date, we can say that:
The decision on the project's release date is for the publisher to make. Even though we are currently at the beta stage with S.T.A.L.K.E.R., it will be the publisher that makes the decision, when to optimally release the game.

| devilhood | (06:45 AM CET - Feb,08 2006 ) | I think the beta is causing errors in space-time.
