I wish you all a very Happy New Year! I hope that 2006 will bring peace, and
prosperity to everyone. Thanks for visiting us in 2005, and I can definitely
promise you even more gaming and tech news in 2006 :)

How do they stack up?
- Apple Designer Honoured By British Crown - The vice-president for
design at Apple,
the man behind the iPod and iMac, has been inducted into the Order of the
British Empire as a Commander (a CBE honour).
- Biggest Discoveries of 2005 -
The Year of the Rooster marked the discovery of the first dinosaur tissue,
the solar system's 10th planet and a mechanical hand controlled by thought
alone. It was an especially big year for space scientists, who peered beneath
the gloom of a Saturnian moon, detected the first Earthlike alien planet and
smashed into a speeding comet.
- Click Fraud May Swallow the Net - Pay-per-click advertising is big,
big, big business. So are bogus hits on internet ads. It's search giants
against scam artists in an arms race
that could crash the entire online economy.
- Wine Tasting Via Computer - Lorenz "Larry" Biegler, who teaches
chemical engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, in conjunction with
industry scientists in Chile,
is working on mathematical formulas to automate the fermentation process,
adjusting ingredients and conditions to ensure robust flavors and higher
yields from grape harvests
- Yamaha Motorcycle Navigation System - Yamaha Motor Co. Japan is set
to begin marketing
a GPS navigation system exclusively for motorcycles. The product is
basically a Garmin, but with some tweaks by Yamaha.
- Second Sam And Max Comic #2 - Telltale Games has released
the second page of the new Sam and Max online comic from creator Steve
Purcell. Telltale Games is currently developing a new Sam and Max PC game with
Purcell's involvement
- 1st Generation PS3 Titles 'Looking Good', Better Than 360 - Tommy
Tallarico, the host of Judgement Day, a show on G4 that reviews and previews
games,
revealed a tidbit about the PS3 titles he has seen so far on the IGN boards
-- he says they look great. Apparently, the first generation of Playstation 3
titles is much more impressive than the first generation of Xbox360 titles
(according to Tommy, at least).
- Truly Liquid-Cooled Xbox 360 -
CoolIT Systems announced that the world's first truly liquid-cooled Xbox
360 will be on display at this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas
from January 4th thru January 8th, 2006.
- UK's First HD Service Almost Here - The box itself has been
stylishly re-designed in black and silver tones, includes the basic control
functions and LED's on the front, coupled with the interactive card slot. The
remote shows little sign of change. Anyway i'm sure your more interested in
functionality than looks. When
the service launches (early 2006) broadcast content will be in one of two
formats. 720/P/50 for progressively scanned picture or 1080/I/25 for
interlaced picture. The end format seen by the viewer will depend on the
broadcasters requirments.
- House Of The Dead 2 To Premiere On Sci-Fi Channel -
This note on the Futon Critic website reveals that the film will premiere
on the Sci-Fi Channel on Saturday Feb. 11 as part of their bi-weekly Sci-Fi
Pictures originals series.
