Sam And Max Interview - interview|
| (hx) 11:57 AM CET - Nov,28 2005 | Two attempts to revive Sam and Max in games have failed - once as a project
with developer
Infinite Machine that stopped when the company shut down and the other as a
full-fledged LucasArts sequel that was cancelled. Now Telltale Games, made up of
former LucasArts members, are finally getting the ball rolling on the game with
Purcell's involvement.
Gamecloud has posted pretty interesting interview with Purcell himself about
Sam and Max
in general and the new game revival. Here's a taster:
Gamecloud - Now that the Telltale team has the rights, how do you feel
about Sam and Max's game prospects?
Steve Purcell - I'm really excited creatively to be working with
Telltale. The idea of the smaller format games is like TV in a way because you
get a chance to re-examine the direction you're taking and respond to input from
the fans. Many times you'll see a TV series find it's way as it progresses and
the creators get a chance to hone in on what they discover are the strengths of
the property. Telltale is open to trying different approaches so it's the ideal
creative situation for me.
