has recently completed a 3-part interview with Daron Stinnett (Executive
Producer), Glen Dahlgren (Lead Designer), and Ken Henderson (Art Director),
where some of the very first details about character progression have been
revealed:
4. As ST: O will offer a persistent platform for multiplayer gaming like
no Star Trek game before it, what are your current plans for in game and out of
game support for player organisations and other groups?
We will have a guild system that will allow players to form arbitrary
organizations within the game. And we are considering some great features that
will give those organizations a lot of character. Though, believe it or not, we
still haven't determined exactly what we'll call our guilds. Glen's got the
issue of guilds near the top of his to-do list so some more light should be shed
on the subject soon. As for game-external support, we don't yet have any
specific plans. Though I will say that it is Perpetual's charter to develop our
MMO platform to seamlessly connect players to our persistent worlds from outside
the game itself through any number of devices. This work is already well
underway and we intend to take full advantage of our company's technology.
