Titan Quest Interview - Part #1 - interview|
| (hx) 04:22 PM CEST - Sep,23 2005 |
RPG Vault has posted the
first part of their two-part interview with Brian Sullivan (Age of Empires
co-creator), the Lead Designer on
Titan Quest, an upcoming
action role-playing game set in the ancient mythical worlds of Greece and Egypt.
Here's a taster:
Jonric: With respect to the player characters, what kind of system are you implementing? Can you play both genders and various classes?
Brian Sullivan: In Titan Quest, you can play as a male or female
character. The game does not have fixed character classes such as warrior, mage
or rogue. Instead, we have a flexible class system where you can create your own
class by picking two mini-classes from eight possible options.
With this system, you will be able to create a class to really match your play
style. If you want to be a warrior and throw fireballs, or be a warrior and have
a healing pet, or just be a great warrior, you can create a class that supports
that type of gameplay. This system adds a lot of replay value to the game and
allows players to spend a lot of time thinking about, and experimenting with
what class combinations work best together in a team.
