 F.E.A.R. Gone Gold! - gold
(hx) 09:23 PM CEST - Sep,16 2005
Vivendi Universal Games sent out a press release announcing that Monolith's horror action game F.E.A.R. has gone gold, and will ship to stores around the world October 18. We'll also see a multiplayer demo (earlier SP demo) of the game later this month. F.E.A.R. has been rated "M" for Mature by the ESRB. (Amazon $49.99)
Developed by Monolith Productions, F.E.A.R. is an intense first person close-quarters combat experience with rich atmosphere and an engaging, paranormal horror storyline. Already named 'Best Action Game of E3 2005' by the E3Critics, F.E.A.R. has been called 'Vivendi's classic-in-the-making' and 'the PC's top shooter' by PC Gamer (September 2005). In August, the game earned the "Best PC Game" award at the 2005 Leipzig Games Convention in Germany.

Last week, VU Games announced that a special "Director's Edition" DVD will be released in North America, which will include exclusive content. The DVD will feature a "Making of F.E.A.R." documentary, a developer's roundtable commentary video, live action "declassified" interviews with Alma, and an exclusive F.E.A.R. machinima episode from Rooster Teeth Productions of Red vs. Blue fame. Gamers who pre-order F.E.A.R. Director's Edition DVD will also receive $5 off the final SRP when the game hits streets on October 18th.

The game isn't only about graphics or physics. Considering how addicted I was to Monolith's NOLF2 and Tron, I guess FEAR is a game I've been longing for. Most people didn't really appreciate Freedom Fighters which was AMAZING, not a lot of people bought BeyondGood&Evil but I think of it as one of the BEST GAMES EVER! So no matter how others judge FEAR, it'll be great!
