Pro Evolution Soccer 5 announced - briefly|
| (hx) 04:48 PM CEST - Jun,20 2005 |
Konami sent out a press release announcing
Pro Evolution Soccer 5, the
next instalment in the untouchable Pro Evolution Soccer series. Pro Evolution
Soccer 5 will be released for PC (DVD-ROM), PS2 and Xbox on October 28th, 2005.
Here's some info:
Terry, 24, has enjoyed a tremendous season, leading his Chelsea side to
Premiership glory and to a Champions League semi-final. He has also established
himself as a key member of England's international side with his battling
performances. As part of the agreement, Terry will appear on the packaging of
the UK version of Pro Evolution Soccer 5 and will also play a central part in
the Konami's promotion of the eagerly-awaited title.
Due for release in Q4 2005, Pro Evolution Soccer 5 furthers the realism, on and
off-the-ball movement and intuitive control of the best-selling football series
with Producer Shingo 'Seabass' Takaska and his team at KCE Tyo Inc. implementing
a host of new gameplay features and aesthetic touches as he continues his quest
to deliver the most realistic football title on any format.
It is this realism that, as with many other top level footballers, attracted
Terry to Pro Evolution Soccer. A confirmed fan, the Chelsea captain has hosted
tournaments at home for his team mates and takes copies with him when on
International duty. As such, his knowledge of the game and position as one of
the world's greatest young talents makes him a perfect figurehead for the
forthcoming Pro Evolution Soccer 5.
Features:
Improved Graphics - Once again player models and animations will be
refined to look smoother than ever. Do not expect a huge over-haul in the
graphics until the next-generation consoles, however.
New stadiums - Although not yet confirmed which new stadiums will be
making an appearance in Pro Evolution Soccer 5, PESInsight expects at least 4
new stadiums to be in the game. Hopefully one of which will be Real Madrid's
Bernabeu.
Online Play - Again, not confirmed, but Konami are hopeful that Pro
Evolution Soccer 5 will feature online play on the Playstation 2, as well as
XBox and PC. The latest release in Japan features Online Play on PS2, and,
assuming this goes well, the game should also be online in Europe come the
release in October.
Bigger Editing Mode - In Pro Evolution Soccer 5 you will now be able to
create even more accurate kits than ever before. In PES4 we saw the introduction
of a sponsor editor, but sadly many kit styles (especially striped shirts) were
missing from the game. This will not be the case in Pro Evolution Soccer 5.
