Webzen Interview - interview|
| (hx) 11:08 AM CEST - May,11 2005 | The chaps over at
RPGVault have posted
a
Q&A up with Webzen CSO Kimok Park, who is working on the UE3-powered
post-apocalyptic MMOG/FPS Huxley that we have
previously reported on. Here's a taster:
Jonric: What would you like to tell our readers about another title
currently in development for release in the West, Huxley?
Kimok Park: Developed by Webzen's H-Studio in Korea, Huxley is a MMOFPS
game based on the Unreal 3 engine. The game is inspired by the novel Brave New
World. In Huxley, two factions fight against each other in a post-apocalyptic
world.
We'd call it the first real MMOFPS because its massively multiplayer feature
won't compromise its fun as an FPS. Imagine up to thousands of people living in
the same world, and hundreds engaging in an Unreal-style battles.
FPS is a traditionally popular genre in the West to begin with. Revolutionized
by adopting MMOG features, there is no doubt that Huxley, a real MMOFPS, will
appeal to Western gamers. We're going for a simultaneous worldwide launch in the
third quarter next year.
