Duke Nukem Forever in 2006? Maybe... - briefly|
| (hx) 03:10 AM CEST - Apr,23 2005 | PlanetDuke is
reporting that the June issue of PC Gamer has
a few paragraphs about Duke
Nukem Forever (thanks BigDude) which they saw while checking out Prey.
However, it seems that there isn't any information contained within the text that has not been released by 3D Realms previously :)
"I just got PC Gamer's June issue and apparently after previewing Prey, 3D Realms showed them a demo of Duke Nukem Forever showing "that DNF is up and running and in very fine form indeed." According to Broussard, "Most of the weapons and creatures are done. Most of the levels exist, and there's a ton of gameplay. We're in the process of pulling it all together, and very much look forward to showing it off. It won't be vaporware much longer." The article talks about demos of interactions with the environments, saying they're in the spirit of those in Duke Nukem 3D. They also report that DNF won't be shown at E3 this year, and until there is a "delux unveiling," nobody will get any more of a look at it."
"In the article Broussard mentions that after switching to the Unreal engine working with their own rendering modifications in 2002, they have been moving forward and are making progress."
"There was a large preview of Prey with some detail and on the last page of the preview, on the right-side of the page was a small article saying that they were in Texas and treated to demo of Duke Nukem Forever. They said it was rough, but had all the elements that make a great Duke Game, and they believe from what they saw that it would be a probable 2006 release"
"On the cover is a star medallion that says "Duke Nukem Forever - We've seen it!" The cover is art from Prey and and World-Exclusive Announcement - Prey [...] The 2006 projection is the PC Gamer author's opinion based on what he saw from the demo"

| Sabot | (06:49 PM CEST - Apr,23 2005 ) | Why bother making ANY comments  3DRealms need to just get off the insecurity ride that they are on. The more that they go on about rumours and small info, the more it just BORES people to death!
I couldn't care less if it was released tomorrow, it would take dozens of 100% for reviews and gamers opinions before i thought it *might* be worth looking at....
| Nosferatu | (08:51 PM CEST - Apr,23 2005 ) | | You know, it's mere stupidity to "probably consider the possibility of getting a game" that got dozens of 100% for reviews. That means it is a wonderful must-buy game, because a game isn't judged by the amount of time it takes to develop. You must be an absolute idiot if you disagree. | |
| Rasded | (11:57 PM CEST - Apr,23 2005 ) | | I'm actually kinda shocked to her some kinda date for this game.Maybe duke will see the lite of day.I wish stalker would hurry up..That whole think about them not bringing it out because of half life 2 was a joke. | |
| Nosferatu | (09:28 AM CEST - Apr,24 2005 ) | | You won't see Stalker until Christmas, or a month earlier. I guess the world they've built is ready and they're only tweaking it a bit. But in such a huge world you get tons of bugs and balancing issues. So you'd better forget about Stalker for a long time period. As for DNF, I think it won't be out until the end 2006 or even middle 2007. | |

Maybe i'm absolute idiot but there were many over-hyped games that got high ratings and just plainly sucked. And if you add payed reviews ...
| Nosferatu | (08:05 AM CEST - Apr,25 2005 ) | | I only count reviews of reliable sites or magazines. If all of them put 90-100 I really doubt the game is $h1t. Besides, 1) you can't pay all of them 2) for those reliable sources it is more profitable to have good reputation, than to write payed reviews. | |
