Dungeon Siege II Interview - interview|
| (hx) 01:22 PM CET - Mar,24 2005 |
Computer
Games Magazine has posted
an
interview with Chris Taylor and Kevin Lambert of Gas Powered Games as he
talks about Dungeon
Siege II, the upcoming sequel to their hit fantasy action-RPG. He also
confirmed that the game is very close to being finished, and now they are
currently in the tuning and balancing phase. They fully expect the game to be
complete this summer. Here's a bit:
Computer Games - How will the magic system in the game, including the new
"Hero Powers" be worked into the sequel?
Kevin Lambert - Powers are especially potent abilities that your
characters can use during combat. Fighters have power attacks that can stun
enemies, archers can shoot an arrow through a row of monsters, and mages can
create devastating explosions that blow up everything. After a character uses a
Power, it takes a little time before he can use a Power again. He's still free
to fight, cast spells, and drink potions while he's recovering. He just can't
use Powers until he recharges. Characters acquire a Power when its requirements
on the skill tree are met. The magic system is an extension of what we developed
in the original Dungeon Siege, and at every turn, we have pushed the variety of
the spells and visual effects to the limits.
